• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

What type of manager do we want?

Forget formations and tactics for a second, what the club needs more than anything right now is an injection of energy and excitement. We are crying out for someone - whether it's a DoF, a new coach or some new players - who can bring a buzz to the club and get everyone going.

At the moment - last 5 years really - everything just feels very stale. We play a zombified version of the football we used to play 10-15 years ago, and it's just doing us no good. I'd wager 80-90% of everyone on here and other forums only goes out of habit or duty these days, not because they are particularly arsed.

We need a complete reset - back to the drawing board, rip it all up top to bottom and start again. It doesn't really matter what "it" looks like, as long as "it" is different and it's fresh and gets everyone excited and champing at the bit to go to games again.

Top post, Andrew.

Just look at Liverpool before and after Klopp.

Just as well you're not a decision maker.
Will you bore off mate.

You’re literally liking posts that pretty much replicate stuff I’ve said.

I’m ignoring you now okay boy. You’re so tedious.

I’ve already stated I’m happy for Williams to stay for a bit and to identify someone long term. The Tate idea is simply a short term one to galvanise, not a long term decision.

Now just go off and giggle with your friends you boring little man.

Apart from 2 near promotions that could have been with investment. Did all he could with what he had at his disposal. I fail to see what else he could have achieved. As opposed to since where we've just seen mediocrity and the such.
I get what you're trying to say but I find it hard to answer due to my thoughts on his tenure.

Well it's all very well and good getting to the playoffs but apart from a socially distanced trip to Wembley, you have the same to show for it come June as the team who finished 20th.

I haven't seen anyone else recommend giving the job to Alan Tate until the end of the season.

You’re so obtuse. It’s so pointless getting drawn into your inane thoughts.

Goodbye.

socially distanced trip to Wembley
To play a team he'd already had 5 stabs at over 2 seasons, yet still didn't have a clue how to formulate a game plan to try and beat them.

That day at Wembley was quite literally a waste of time for everyone concerned with the club. I was delighted when he left.

Without wanting to bog this thread down with back and forth.

You mentioned giving Tatey the job until the end of the season. I replied stating it is a good job you aren't a decision maker.

There is absolutely no sense in giving the managers job to someone who hasn't managed at any level due to tenuous link with him being a former player.

Too late, you’re on the naughty step with me now. You’ll never make it on here Smurphy 🤣

Haha, at least you've got company on the naughty step

I'm on the ignore list apparently so maybe I'll get away with this time. 😂

There was a point where the Swansea way of possession based football was unusual in the British game making us different. Teams didn't know what to do against us. Now loads of teams pass out from the back and try and play a possession game and therefore more teams have worked out ways to counteract it. Not that we play it anywhere near as well as we used to. I'd be happy to see a different approach.

Tony Pulis it is then 🤣

And Daps put ECB on there as well, we’ll have a 5 a side team if this carries on 🤣
