I’ve said before when the chips are down, you need your captain more than ever, to cajole and get the troops going. Ours is like a little mouse in hiding. Offers nothing, other than a sprint to the 18 yard box to receive the ball from the keeper to then give a short risky pass to one of our defenders.

Egods yes.......just think of the superb job that Ash did as our captain and also Monk.

I grew up watching captains such as George Smith, Cornforth, Colin Irwin as well as Monk and Williams and they were all leaders in their own way. Grimes does not impose himself on a game let alone the team and we are (and have been) crying out for a leader for four years. Bennett should have been captain during Cooper’s time - he was a proper leader and wasn’t afraid to get in the referee’s ear if something wasn’t right. Grimes doesn’t have the ambition and drive to be a captain sorry .
