Seen a lot of posts saying how wxlelent he was last night.

Thought he had a decent game but wouldn't go that far myself. Doesn't seem to impact games as much as I thought he would and not sure he's a number 10.

Think he would work nicely alongside Galbraith as the two 8's..

Thoughts?

He’s lightweight and gets knocked off the ball too much

This is something that can be worked on and like EOM has shown this season, it may take him a season or two before we see a more complete player

Think he gets himself into good positions but would like to see more end product in the final 3rd.

Hopefully that’ll come with more gametime in the second half of the season.

Not quite having the impact on goals and assists that we would like yet but his work off the ball is vital to us at the moment for me.

I think in general we have a few players like that, we may have to be patient with a few of them, they’re young and still developing.

He's mostly been used on the flanks for us so far so he's getting used to playing in the middle at what is probably a far higher intensity than he's used to.

I like what I've seen so far. I particularly like that when he drives forward he does it with his head up looking for the pass.

He’s far more effective than Cullen.
Think he’s starting to link up well and showed a lovely back heal pass and had a good shot.
Chasing down well and does it in unison with VIP or the wingers which is making the press work well.
He’s young and think he’s only going to get better as he gets used to the league.
I really like him as a player and can see him becoming a fans favourite if he continues to improve.

I think he's still getting used to the pace and intensity of this league, especially in the middle where he hasn't played a lot as you say. Not sure he's ever going to be a standout player for us, but he's got the potential to be a solid part of the team.

Stamenic showed the ability last night to drive forward and make space for himself to make the right pass when under pressure. If Widdell can do the same and we get a right-back so Galbraith can come back into midfield, we'd have 3 who can all make space for themselves with neat footwork in a very crowded part of the pitch.

Think we are still looking for that number 10 that can link play through the middle between our midfield and Vipotnik.

A run of games will see Widell get better imo, we've seen a few glimpses so far plus his work rate is excellent

My thoughts is he doesn't play a defined role.. he is all over the place sometimes behind Tymon and behind Ronald.. this contributes towards Vip being isolated at times
