Will Saturdays game be called off?

Isn't the CL final in Porto essentially a "bubble". Surely buses could be organised from Brentford to Wembley and back?

What about Brentford fans who live outside the borough? It would be totally irresponsible to now allow them to attend, and therefore our fans would not be allowed in either. I can really see this going ahead behind closed doors.

That could potentially work but only if all Brentford ST holders who were lucky enough to get tickets all lived within the Borough of Hounslow and were picked up from and returned to Brentford. But what about those who do not live within the Borough - and there must be plenty as Brentford itself is right on the edge of the borough? They would have to travel into Brentford from outside the borough to get on a coach and would have to travel out of the borough after being dropped off again and it is travel into and out that is one of the things specifically being deterred.

Are we serious?

Wembley is 90k seats. There are 4k of the delusionional bees coming.

I don't think that's going to spread the virus.

If they weren't spaced out at Wembley, they'd be at the pub. Or right next to 5 mates on the sofa.

If anything the logic would be to get more to attend so they don't spread it in pubs and homes!

Fck Brentford.

It will happen, but Brentford fans may not be allowed to attend.

None of this should affect Swansea City or its fans

That's optimistic. The EFL stated before the semi finals that if for example were weren't going to be allowed fans in our home leg, neither team would have fans in the interest in fairness.

I'd be amazed if that's any different now.

So when if at all is that decision likely to be made or communicated

Seems as if all ok now

Champions league final 6,000 each for Chelsea and Man City. So it's ok for 12,000 fans to travel by plane to another country (under strict rules) but only 8,000 at Wembley under strict rules.

Lisa’s response on the other site pretty much kills this issue.

Copied here Monnie.

“ Couple of points.

Firstly, there is a difference between Hounslow the place and the London Borough of Hounslow which, in addition to Hounslow, includes Chiswick, Isleworth, Brentford etc etc etc etc. It’s a large borough.

Secondly, despite what some thickos pretend (and, incidentally the bizarre driving routes they appear to take) the communities of places like Chiswick, Isleworth etc are, in the whole, very affluent and very ‘white’. The large Indian communities where there has, obviously, been more Incidence of the Indian variant live in Hounslow itself, and areas like Feltham. There are large communities around those areas because a huge number work at Heathrow, which is in Hillingdon, bordering Hounslow.

Brentford these days, is somewhere that’s undergoing huge regeneration - billions of pounds worth. Much work has been done on Brentford riverside which borders Kew and Isleworth. The new stadium borders Kew Bridge and is a short walk from Kew Gardens. Brentford, Chiswick etc d9ntdon’t have high rates. The high rates are all around Hounslow and near Heathrow.

Hounslow council themselves have confirmed that there are absolutely no restrictions on travel in or out of the borough. Plus most of Brentford’s fans don’t necessarily live in the borough anyway. Many live in Kew, which is London Borough of Richmond on Thames.

The game will not be affected. ”

The thickos referred to were a reference to some making comments about Brentford being like a ‘foreign land’. It’s about as foreign as the Marina (chosen as much of Brentford is now a super luxury riverside development).

Fck Brentford.

It's not as simple as that. If they're not allowed to go, then we probably won't either.
