I agree that nuclear is the way forward until fusion is a realistic option. The issue we have in the UK, is peoples perception of nuclear being a bad thing. Coming from a science background, nuclear is definitely our best option. Wind and solar and tidal are options but don’t produce enough electricity compared to traditional fossil fuels. If we want to try and reverse the damage we have done over the last 50 to 100 years, we need to act now.
