I've not contributed to this thread for ages even though I do the puzzle most days. I have often wondered if I would ever guess the word in one and what the odds are.

I don't tend to use the same start word, rather I pick something I've just heard on the radio or TV, and this is exactly what happened to me this morning. Probably time to give up now!

Anyone else here got it in one?

Certainly not me. The odds would be millions to one. I have solved it in 2 on six occasions.

Done a few twos but never a one - I do tend to use the same start word so odds on it has to happen at one stage in my lifetime . Maybe!
