Given the significant amount of public money that’s ploughed into track and field, a five medal return from the World Championships, none of them gold, is rubbish. Someone should be sacked.

Given the significant amount of public money that’s ploughed into track and field, a five medal return from the World Championships, none of them gold, is rubbish. Someone should be sacked.

I thought that as well.

Looking back to 2009 they’ve pretty consistently picked up around 7 medals (which was lower than I expected) but 3 golds, so 0 is obviously a big disappointment this time

Be interesting to see what the BBC & TNT viewing figures were. I’ve enjoyed watching the highlights programme - saved having to listen to them build up the athletes and rarely criticise afterwards! Steve Cram calling them all by their first names during commentary grated with me far more than it should have though!!
