Some good and interesting points.

Feel very uncomfortable about how things are at the moment.

Are players listening to manager?

Are owners concerned?

☹️

I would suggest the players are listening. That is why they are selected. We don't see Downes venturing too far forward.

There were moments again in the Sheffield game where Fisher was playing tip tap with the full back in a game where we are being hit for six.

The only surprise was the score did not get to six they had enough clear cut chances to get to double figures and this was a weakened Sheffield team due to injury.

We are well ahead of relegation but clinging on to mid table and have had a few key injuries.

I can see us getting another nine or ten points from our remaining games.

I'm pretty sure this team would have beaten anything Cusack put out.

Absolutely. Its easy to lapse into hyperbole. Our squad is ok. Slightly below ave for Champ I would say. but in my living memory Cusaks squad was the low point.
Cusak dream team:-
Jason Jones Terry Evans, Neil Sharp , David Theobald, Mike Jackson(shamone), Keiron Durkan, David Moss, David Smith, Paul Reid, Jon Keavney and Jamie(dead) Wood.
Shudder
Edit:-Couldnt leave Big Rog in there with that rogues gallery.

Here was our squad 20 years ago...most of them anyway...

Freestone
Jenkins
Howard
Cusack
Smith
Romo
John Williams
Watkin
Coates
O’Leary
Sidibé
Todd
Casey
De-Vulgt
Mumford
Brody
Duffy

As has been said, our current squad would wipe the floor with that lot. I think on paper we do have a half-decent side, certainly better than the table reflects. I think we’re being mismanaged at the moment and it’s showing in the results and the demeanour of the players.

We all dream of a team of Matt Murphy's ...

Jamie Wood was the toughest footballer I ever saw. Fell into the North Bank once, which was a terrifying drop. Never understood how those barriers got taken down. Never happen now.

In later years saw him play at Aber for TNS. Absolutely baltic, wind chill making it feel like - 10 and he's flying in like it's a summer day. Nails. Awful, but nails.

I guess you could argue that it’s our worst squad since getting promoted to the Championship or our last season in League One...

Matt Murphy scored a few IIRC and then broke his leg.

The fact he looked good surrounded by that lot probably tells a story eh.

Ah happy times. Away fans this season don't know they're born...

Couldn't argue with that mind. Martinez 's title winners might though.

what happened since that 3-0 thrashing of Cardiff last year.
Was we just right up for it, because it was a derby?

Cardiff were terrible. McCarthy and his 7 centre backs.

But we did start to look better then, still always in patches. Just gone backwards rather than forwards since then, literally and figuratively.

They were certainly better at this level. So I’d say worst at this level since our relegation in ‘84 when we had no pot to piss in.

Having followed us over 40 odd years, I'm prepared to accept that we have non investment owners and all that comes with it.
But what I cant now accept is the all to frequent humiliations we are now seeing from the side. Yes, there have been sporadic decent performances but they are papering over huge cracks in this managers ability. He is simply not learning from anything that is looking horrendous to the eye. Contrary to many beliefs, I feel we have a side that should be top 8/9, and bearing in mind this league is average at best, that's not too much to expect. Downing tools all to often now....especially away from home. A poor showing v Muff ( and by that I mean effort) then we need to get rid and prepare for next season.

Good post Saint.
I find Martin's arrogance lately incredible, he seems to think he's hear for next season with his "we'll be more physical next season" comment.
