Wrecsam

Because of their commercial income is so high it won’t touch P&S? Our owners combined have more financial muscle than Wrexham but we don’t have the commercial income to then go and spend for fun because of the P&S restrictions.

Wrexham confident they can sign both Ben Davies and Harry Darling in the next few weeks
I assume you mean the Welsh Ben Davies, rather than the Rangers one. Signing our Ben would be a massive statement of intent by Wrexham.

Maybe below the championship. Not sure its a good strategy in this league.

Team in promotion game
GK 22
Back three - 22, 24, 30
middle five - 24, 27, 33, 28, 36
front two - 38, 27

bench 25, 28, 38, 30, 29, 29, 26

I seem to recall seeing an article suggesting Ben was on nearly £100,000 a week, or £5 million a year. May be nonsense, but not inconceivable. If true, I imagine Wrexham would have to offer in the region of £50,000 a week to compete with lower PL teams, and offer him a 3 year contract. If they do sign him it will be a serious sign of intent. Given that he's at his best as a left sided CB in a back 3, he would certainly fit.

Fooking hell!
They don't need to be doing that!
Crack on I say, it's going to end in tears if they are going to be paying 50k a week for a 34yr old.
This is why Darling might fancy a move there, he’ll get the 30K he supposedly wants.

If Ben Davies is willing to drop down to the Championship - and it's not clear he is - then whoever gets him is going to be getting someone who has the potential to be the best CB in the division. I can only hope it's us.
With his ties to the club, Modric, our owner being a big Spurs fan I’m hoping he’d come back here when he drops a division, but no doubt he’ll end up at Leeds with the other Welsh boys.

I want Darling to stay but 30k a week is a goodbye for me.

Thing with Wrexham, it is great spending that sort of money on wages but this division can swallow teams up. Wrexham go a couple of seasons just doing little in and around mid table then the glory hunters will disappear as quick as the boredom arrives. They need to be smart and paying 30k/50k a week on wages fresh into the league is just irresponsible.

The big challenge Wrexham have almost all their squad is under contract. So to recruit they will have to pay off quite a few to remain under the EFL squad ceiling. Maybe cash isn't an issue for them but why have your squad fully contracted when most will need to be binned for next season.
