• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

I’ve always quite liked Parkinson, but a man’s got to know his limitations.

I think they'll be fine. People are loving the idea of them falling apart and going down, but I don't see it happening. They've given a decent showing of themselves so far and I expect them to get better as the season goes on. LOB is a great signing. Kieffer Moore will still be a problem for teams even if he's getting to the tail end of his career, and I'm sure they'll bring a couple more in before the window closes.

It would be amusing to see them crash and burn, it has to be said, but I can't see it happening, this season at least. Phil Parkinson isn't that bad...is he?

Quite shocked when I took a look at the total price of their summer signings, 30 million already in transfers, then take into consideration the wages they must be paying.

AND... they are still looking at more players!!!

Can't help thinking they are on a flawed course, surely they would have been much better to look to build a team for a future promotion rather than splurge on non sensicle signings in the hope of instant promotion, paying over the odds for decent players.

It seems they are putting a noose around theor own necks.

A decent showing of themselves so far? :)

What losing the first two. then mucking up a 2 nil lead.

For the money they have splashed, they are not exactly storming the league are they? I've watched one of their games, they are not good, The problem lies with the manager, I like Parkinson, comes across as a decent chap on the Wrexham documentary, but unfortunately I think he's now out of his league in the Championship, a few more poor results and he will be gone.

They really should have won away at Southampton on the opening weekend, leading 0-1 in the 90th minute. They should have won easily yesterday as well. I get that 'should have' doesn't get you any extra points, but they don't seem to have a problem scoring goals at this level. If they get some composure and stability at the back they'll be fine.

It will become evident in a month or two, but I've watched all the seasons of WTW, and of course they show footage of games, now I'm no football expert, but looks like Parkinson is still using the same playing style that worked in the lower leagues. It's not going to work in the Championship. it's just basically hoof it to to Keifer and hoping he gets on the end of it,

Warnock got Cardiff promoted from the Championship doing exactly that, with a poundshop team.

Hull are an example of making a lot of expensive signings at this level trying to buy success and failing.

I think Birmingham's signings make more sense and will see them top 6

Birmingham have bought Marvin Ducksch from Werder Bremen. I’ve watched him a lot. First touch awful and had a reputation for getting annoyed with younger players. Not a good trait if you’re trying to integrate younger players into a team. Werder wanted rid and Birmingham got themseves a bargain. He knows where the back of the net is.

Some of their signings will come back to bite them for sure.. Coady Moore and Windass have limited shelf life also can't see them making anything on Broadhead and LoB either.

They will need to replace parkyball at some point this season, they will have enough to be mid table unless they keep spending in this window and the next.

They must have to offload some players by next week

Interesting thread. They’re doing very nicely at 2 points off the play off after 17 games.
What a difference three months makes reading some of our comments.
