Wrexham.

The owners do a hell of a lot of flying, don't they?

They said back in the day that David Beckham nearly gave himself Deep Vein Thrombosis from jetting back from LA after every game, these boys can't be doing themselves much good.

So do Wrexham give a f**k about Swansea then because we’re a Welsh club? Thought so.

I've watched the documentary and enjoyed it. The owners do genuinely seem to care about the club and the area, although they are professional actors so nothing is guaranteed.

I think I'd have a soft spot for them after watching the doc even if they weren't Welsh. The fact that they are and that another Welsh club in the football league will get up the noses of a certain type of English football fan only makes it sweeter.

Plus we've have some decent players from them over the years. Trundle and Neil Taylor notably, although an honourable mention goes to Steve Watkin.

No problem with anyone who doesn't give a f*ck about them, although not sure why so many get annoyed at those of us who do take an interest.

To answer your question, having worked in and around Wrexham (albeit a good few years ago) absolutely not, quite hostile in fact, and not only football wise but anything South Wales in general...

Having lived in N Wales during most of the 1960s, I do have a bit of a soft spot for them due, in part, because some of my team mates from junior football joined them, most notably Joey Jones and Gareth 'Sam' Davies who captained them during most of the 70s and won 3 or 4 Welsh caps.

From first hand experience, any antipathy towards anything S Wales, is the same as similar feelings from Northern England towards London and the South due to a perceived or real imbalance in investment.

As a story, Wrexham who have languished outside the leagues for 15 years, an unfashionable club with history have had some light shone on them, we can surely affiliate with that a little whether you like them or not, I’ve personally always had a fondness for them, looked forward to that fixture as welsh rivals and obviously they were our last vetch opponents, they’ve just had this amazing injection of money, and as a result of star owners, are pushed into the stratosphere as an advert for them, generating interest from everywhere, the national league that hardly anyone cares about has had eyes on it watching an epic battle all season, Wrexham v county In a similar Liverpool v city fight, in a league that no one other than those who ply trade there give a toss about, so fair play to them and county, I wish them well until we possibly cross paths, f’k um then 😂

Yesterday the oldest club in the world played on the oldest international ground still in use in the world.

Now that's what I call crap. I'm embarrassed for you.

I’ve found North Walians sound. Same as people from most places. It’s when you start introducing football teams and or rivalries that conversations change. I’m one of the worlds worst for it, I struggle when someone takes the piss out of our club, even jokingly.

The fuss over Wrexham is a load of wánk imo.
This headline from this ITV Wales News tweet being a prime example.

No honourable mention to Kieron Durkan?! 😉

I knew I was forgetting some! I left off Joe as he only played 2 games for them and was our player anyway, but should have remembered big Dennis Lawrence and Durkan.

I’ve said this before, there’s only one story regarding a Phoenix rising from the Ashes and that’s Newport County.
Truly amazing what was achieved by that club and a small but dedicated fan base.
