So am I and it's really stretching my patience and loyalty. Yesterday driving home, I had plenty of time to think about exactly what did I get out of the matchday experience. The journey has been getting worse over the last few years despite no longer having to stop at tollbooths but yesterday's journey was dreadful. Nearly 3 hours for a 105 mile journey of which 95 miles is on the M5/M49/M4 motorways, so an average speed of 35mph. Fuel cost, about £38. Yes, I know the time of year and the weather contribute to this but the winter journeys can sometimes be nearly as bad due to different reasons. And then I had to sit through watching THAT? The only positive thing I got out of the trip was the opportunity to spend a few hours with my brother and my nephew.

The next match I have planned is Luton at home on 20th and there are 3 games before that so my attendance now depends on seeing something worth going for in those 3 games. I'm not holding my breath. 😢

Jesus. Tunnels and Port Toilet? Or just congestion all the way? Sorry, but I'm so glad I didn't venture out.

Problems started almost as soon as I got on the M5 @ J22. It usually slows between the Weston & Clevedon exits and there never seems to be any apparent reason for it but it started well before that. It's usually slow between Celtic Manor & the tunnels but again it started about 5 miles before Celtic Manor and was slower than usual. Port Talbot didn't seem any worse than usual, however, once over the bridge, it was a slow crawl all the way to J44 when I came off instead of crawling to 45. I'd have been better coming off after the bridge and coming into Swansea along Fabian Way but I didn't know that at the time. The only bits that were 'normal' were the M49 and the stretch from Cardiff to PT. I enjoy driving but that wasn't a journey that would make you want to repeat it twice a month for 8 months unless there was something joyous at the end of it. 🙄

Did a park run at Clevedon a few weeks ago and jumped in the marine lake straight after. Lovely. Traffic was slow that day too, on a Saturday at 10ish, but worse going south. Hate the M5. I normally get on the M4 at the CM, I know, not an option with the M49, and when we hit Swansea, if the M4 is jammed I get off at Llandarcy, cut across Pen yr Alley and go down crymlyn road to come out at the halfway in Winch Wen. The speed bumps and narrow road make it a pain in the arse, but it gets me round the traffic on M4 and Fabian.

I know someone who swims in that marine lake in the middle of winter, quite a few folk do tbh. Mind you, she's married to a Cardiff fan so she's obviously a bit weird anyway. 😲😂
