The Swansea City manager is hopeful that he will welcome back captain Garry Monk for the visit of Portsmouth on Friday night but Kemy may be the man to step into the breach if that does not happen.
Rodgers told the Western Mail “Kemy can step in there, the Dutch play that way at times where their second centre-half is a midfield player.
โThey understand how to step in and play the ball.
โIโve mentioned it to Kemy before if he is comfortable playing in there.
โThatโs a risk you take sometimes to get something from the game, if not win the game.
โThe players have shown they have that mental courage to adapt.
โI would have no qualms about putting Kemy in there from the start, as he showed in his little cameo there that heโs comfortable enough, especially at home where weโre going to dominate the game.
โWeโre hopeful Garry might be back for next Friday.
โHeโs making good progress and weโll see how he goes the remainder of this week.โ
