Brendan – We Were Fantastic

There were probably hundreds of words that Brendan could use to praise his side after a magnificent performance at Anfield

He said after the game “We were fantastic today

“We felt as though we were equipped to come to a big team and deliver a big performance.

“We’ve now grown into this league and to come here and play like that fills me with great pride, and overall we were outstanding this afternoon.

“We had some good fortune early on but you need that little bit of luck,” he said. “But there was nothing lucky about the performance, and the players deserve every plaudit that they get.

“Unfortunately for Wayne I’ve had to play him in a number of positions since he’s come in,” he said. “But he was outstanding today, he made good space, took up some good positions and collectively the team were outstanding.

“For the players to show that confidence and display our philosophy of football was incredible.”

The result means that Swansea cement their place in the top half of the Premier League as well as going three games unbeaten since defeat at Norwich in mid-October.

“Today we showed that we are learning all the time. We are extremely confident at home

“Not too many teams will come to Anfield and be applauded off the field. That is a marker of the level of performance we showed and I thank them for that.”
