The Swans have confirmed that Yannick Bolasie has left Swansea at the end of his short term contract.ย He made 11 appearances for the Swans in all competitions.
Last week manager Luke Williams talked about his desire to keep Bolasie at the club although he also added that there was probably more to it than just awaiting the player making his mind upย โItโs something along those lines,โ the boss said.ย โItโs a little bit more complicated but if I talk more itโs probably unfair.
Heโs not a kid, heโs an experienced guy, he has other options in his life. The first thing you have to know is that heโs training really well, heโs so focused and heโs really great in the building so this isnโt a commitment thing, heโs in a different stage of his career where these guys have to think about things more deeply. Weโre trying (to get him to stay).
โOf course weโve all seen a lot of Yannick over the years because heโs been a top player, so Iโve got a good impression of him anyway.โ
Whatever those other considerations were in the mind of the player it appears that he has decided to move on from the club and Williams added today โYannick has been great to work with during his time at the club, he has been a real professional and we wish him well in whatever is next for him.”
