On a serious note people have a lot to say about the French but by fÛck if their water companies did what the privatised ones in England are doing they'd burn the country down

Have you got a water meter?

They've just installed a load in the area as it's a "water stressed" region.
What are your monthly rates non meter?

For the previous three x half year periods we have averaged 300 litres consumption per day. This equates to £40 bill per month.

Boyo has now flown the nest and headed off to uni. 25% of the household has moved out, consumption goes down by 25%. By this logic I expect bills to go down to £30 per month. This is at least £50 per month cheaper than traditional rates.

We're not on a meter here and pay 1/2 yearly in May & November but our bills work out at £17.16 per month which sounds pretty good compared with some of the monthly bills some of you guys pay.

Dwr Cymru ...

"Most of our household customers will see a fall in their typical water and wastewater bills of an average of 0.6%."

"The reduction is due to penalties we incurred for supply interruptions and leakage during previous years."

"The “Average Household Bill” for 2024-25 will be £701, a reduction of £2.00 approximately. This is an average amount and can vary."

If we'd been on water rates, would have been on a bigger chunk. 14 years at Band E council tax, 3 at a band D house

Going up to £67 from £59 last year

Sounds like you need one of them water meter thingamabob.

Saying that, you'll then have to decommission your purpose built irrigation system. Heck of a choice to make.
Ahh I made the mistake of not checking the flow rate so the system is out of order until I upgrade the pipe to 25mm plastic from the street
