• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

Wales' Connor Roberts hopes to play for Swansea again

Contract is up in the summer and will be going into next season soon to be in his 30s.
If he wants to come back then I hope it's with still some gas left in his tank and not for a cushy contract going into his twilight years.
If Key isn't going to sign a contract then this could be an opportunity that might suit both parties come the summer.

Imagine we get Roberts and Ben Davies back next summer, a certain Nigel Morris is a big Spurs fan isn’t he?

We gave Connor a good reception up in Burnley, both at the start and at the end. Fortunately, it wasn't hero-worshipping during the game. Very decent player and would like to see him again in a Swans shirt

Do you think that will happen with key? Disappointing if so

No rush then, we can wait until the summer or next January to discuss.
Bit odd Lukey came out this week calling for his contract to be sorted.

We don’t need signings driven by sentimentality, we need to get back to the model of finding hidden gems, developing them and selling on as a means of enhancing our future growth.

New owners won’t mean bucket loads of cash being thrown around, and it certainly won’t be spent on one last payday for the boys. There’s still FFP rules to comply with.

Surely we have had our fingers burnt enough over the last few years, bringing back past players that should never have been signed on again. There must be plenty of good young players in League 1 ( Josh Key being an example) that can make the step up without breaking the bank, and if successful will have a good resell fee.

I did highlight it when we gave new contracts to Allen and Naughton.
We need players who have enough in their tank to be able to be ready when fit to compete to start in the team and not have a free ride at the club.

Not good enough for anything more than mid championship. Would be Allen all over again. I like them both but if they weren’t ‘one of our own’ we wouldn’t entertain the idea of paying the wages they want.

I'm sure his agent was delighted that the head coach compared him to Gareth Bale; He'll be more than happy to bring that up in the contract negotiations, if everyone in the room can keep a straight face...
