The Dyffryn used to welcome women although why any would want to go there is beyond me. My old girl loved it

Mine was a life member of the Dyffryn , he loved it there. Morriston Workies was his second choice of haunt. He’d often go there to start the night then saunter up to the Dyffryn.

I was in there a few months ago, decent place (& no women allowed in).

Well I never realised till just now, that women could be refused to be served in a bar, unless accompanied by a male before 1982.

I don’t think they ever had a “no women” policy. Definitely not in the lounge anyway, the place would be packed with no tails. May have been men only in the bar I can’t remember. But anyway, any place that still has such a policy in 2025 probably deserves to close down.

Edit - I see it was the Major St club that apparently has the women out policy not the Clase Club. Point still stands.

Think Major St club allows the Ladies in Christmas night or one day/night over that period.
Used to go there back in the day on a Christmas morning when we used to go to Parents house for Christmas dinner, father would fall asleep after lunch and Mam used to kick off

He’s great, and in fairness, quite interesting to watch, nice polite way about the chap. Talking of food reviews I was meaning to ask somebody, has anyone ever tried the Chinese in Aberkenfig called New Garden, an old mate of mine used to mention it all the time, and I was looking at tik tok the other day, and someone did a review on it, did look rather nice.
