Today.

That’ll get the gammons foaming at the mouth. Looking forward to dipping into Twitter later to read about it.

it’s ironic that they’re doing this today, 9 March, and the incompetent government of the day waited another two weeks before ordering a lockdown. Johnson and the Tories were the worst possible government at the worst possible time.

The only good thing to come out of COVID-19 (apart from the vaccine) was table service in pubs via app. Absolutely fantastic, sitting there all day on your ass and only having to move to use the toilet! Happy days! 😎

🤣 And of course Mr. Drakeford and his motley crew were a complete success story. Perish the thought if Labour had been running the show back then, we’d all been off to the gulag for forgetting to wear a mask.

I’ve no idea what post you think you replied to there.

Yours of course. I thought I would put a bit of clarity in. If you are going to blame the tories, let’s have a slight bit of truth here. Wales and the Welsh Government were responsible for handling Covid, they did absolutely nothing.

I was going to say the same thing. Not having to walk to the bar any longer is game changing.

I seem to remember you moaning at the time that they did too much. Anyway, if my post had said the Tories were rubbish but Labour would have been/were better then your reply may have made sense. But the Sunday swig must have started early today because the sun is out and it’s a bit warm.

I don’t drink on Sundays anymore 👍

Umm, I don’t really know what you are talking about there, the post I replied to initially was you having a go at Johnson and the Tory government, of their handling of Covid, I was merely pointing out to you, that Wales and the Welsh government were responsible for handling Covid in Wales.

I don’t think any government official came out well in all of this, so many unanswered questions, I shouldn’t really think about it, because when I do, it makes me angry, especially thinking of Gething in the covid inquiry, where he was completely clueless.

I think the whole Covid period was a disaster and there’s few individuals that come out of it looking good beyond the medical staff.

Should we have locked down earlier? Yes.

Should the UK have had one message and no devolved decisions? Yes

Furlough was a disaster. We should have let young people continue to work.

I know that’s a controversial view but I think compliance among young people was terrible (understandably) and it would have improved compliance towards going into older people’s homes etc.

Lockdowns should not have had caveats. They should have been simple. In Wales we had some barking weird differences.

It turned into a tribal issue and it should never have been.

We’ve never recovered from it. Mental health has spiked in young people and it didn’t need to be this way.

I know some will never want to question their views on this. Drakeford was wonderful etc.

That horrible episode has changed the mentality and attitudes of some in society and not for the better, in my opinion anyway.

I've noticed people rarely make eye contact anymore when walking past, that might be a society thing rather than people wanting not to interact after the covid years I suppose.

Apart from lockdown #1, wasn't Wales ahead of the curve when it came to subsequent measures? I seem to recall whatever Welsh Gov did, Boris ended up doing it 2 weeks later, having let things go to shit deaths-wise.

If WG were that crap, then why is it England followed them, rather than the other way round?

(Disclaimer: the taping off aisles in supermarkets was bloody stupid though, WG cocked up big time with that nonsense, it was laughably stupid)

As though the virus recognised geographical boundaries!
There should have been a British approach but Johnson didn't answer the phone to Drakeford or Sturgeon.
