I'll make my own mind up, I don't need any advice off anyone Thanks.Vote Plaid, Max
Anyway these carpark charges at Aberavon ??? That conversation seems to have gone out with the tide.I'll make my own mind up, I don't need any advice off anyone Thanks.
I may even decide to abstain again, again its my choice, doesn't mean that I can't still moan about the arseholes who make decisions that cost us harding working taxpayer yet more of our hard earned.
SignedAnyhow, back on track, if anyone wishes to sign, there is a petition on line @ change.org

I take your points, however, and I'm not saying that a pound or two is a fortune, which begs the question how much revenue will be raised, to help with maintenance, which, if folk can actually see that the money is being spent fairly to improve the area great. As for the parking bays they haven't just been put there, they've been there for decades, so it's not like they are clawing back money for providing the facility.Local authorities all over the UK are in a very difficult position, NPT has got to find money everywhere they can, the cuts to council budgets who by law have to provide services such as social services, education etc.
We have an aging population who require more care, the NHS are on their knees but still spending billions, councils budgets have been cut to the bone in recent years to pay for the NHS, defence etc.
You can pay to park all day in Scarlet Ave for £2 in winter and £4 in summer, try parking in Swansea or Cardiff all day and see how much it costs.
I usually walk down to the beach but if i do drive i am happy to pay, on another point why should NPT council tax payers subsidise residents from outside the borough to park for free when the bays have been paid for by NPT Council?
Looks like greed without any thought given to those it's going to impact the most.I take your points, however, and I'm not saying that a pound or two is a fortune, which begs the question how much revenue will be raised, to help with maintenance, which, if folk can actually see that the money is being spent fairly to improve the area great. Businesses on the seafront must be thinking how much of a kicking are we able to take, before they close down, as it will undoubtedly affect footfall, the older folk also need parking near to the front due to mobility issues.
I suspect as indicated earlier in the thread it's a way of raising revenue by fining folk.
It wont deter me from visiting Aberavon. During the summer months we visit probably a couple of times a week, so the costs can mount up. Nearly 5000 people have already signed the petition, so its obviously a bone of contention.
Well indeed. People also think that there is no cost to administer this kind of scheme, albeit, fines and charges go to pay staff to process the fines etc. Anyway, for me it's not about that, it's the wider impact on businesses and visitors, it's another stealth tax.Looks like greed without any thought given to those it's going to impact the most.
