Summer Transfer Window

I can understand the lack of enthusiasm for Morris, but 20 goals and 8 assists in 22/23 is a very impressive tally. 11 goals in a relegated side in the Premier League isn't to be sniffed at either.

Last season saw a more modest return of 8 goals and 2 assists. However, in a relegated side he was still the best Championship striker for duels and aerial duels won, touches and touches in opposition box and fouls won. So clearly a fantastic work ethic, and someone heavily involved where it counts, in the penalty box. There's a lot to like.

The transfer fee and wages are an issue. However, Luton may be desperate to offload, given the drop in income at League one level. There may even be a relegation clause. At the right price and wages this could be a smart move.

Not sure how desperate they will be to offload due to the drop in income as they still have the big parachute payments coming in!

Its hard to say on Morris, if you get the player of 2022 to 2024 then it would be a great bit of business.

Much of the disappointment of Morris's performance for 2024/25 could be laid at the feet of a Luton side that as a whole were low on confidence and as a result attacking ambition and creativity.

With presumably only one year left on his contract even with the parachute payments still coming in I could see Luton asking for at least 1-2m for him - and then there would be the obstacle of his wages and his lack of real resale value considering he turns 30 next season

If we're going to sign an older striker with an underwhelming goalscoring record apart from one season, I'd rather us try and get McBurnie back.
Luton only have one more year of parachute payments because they were relegated after one season, and much of that is going towards the new stadium.

Everything being equal I'd go for McBurnie over Morris, but I think McBurnie would command a higher salary. Chances are neither move will happen, but either would be a very congruent signing. Morris averaged twice as many touches per 90 minutes as compared to Vipotnik last season. That sort of work ethic in combination with our midfield would quite likely make us the top performing side out of possession in the league.

This.
We've already got the lad from Sweden & Bobby Wales, so I expect we'll see some outgoings before we see any more forwards coming in.
Agreed. We should get a million minimum for Yates. Read an article saying he would be a good option for QPR playing off their big striker Frey. Yates' 10 goals last season would have made him too scorer at QPR in each of the last 4 seasons. 10 goals is a decent return at Championship level.

Kukharevych will leave on another loan, or on a free at best.

I don't mind us persevering with Vipotnik, but any offers of £3 million or more should be accepted, possibly less, depending on who we have lined up as a replacement. Although he may improve, his lack of pace and physicality suggests a low ceiling.

I would also accept offers of £4 million or more for Cullen, but I doubt we'll get that, unless one of our peers gets a windfall.

If we lose Yates and Kukharevych I guess we will get just one further addition to Wales.

Don't know the truth in our interest in Low of Wycombe, probably nothing in it. Wycombe has offered him a new contract.
