Play-offs

I genuinely can't believe Sunderland have been promoted. Good luck to them but nailed on for a weekly bumming. Beaten us twice in last 10 meetings.

Just go's to show, it's all to play for. Damn our mid season capitulation.
If we’d spawned a promotion, we wouldn’t get a point next season.

No comparison to 2011 when it was a much fairer competition and we found a point of difference and a Sigurdsson. We also had Dyer, Sinclair, Williams, pre-injury Vorm, Rangel and Britton who were clearly above championship level at the time. All in all, we should have been more optimistic. Sunderland have none of that. Russ’ Southampton would have kicked their arses.

I would have said the same about our side that got promoted against Reading to be fair

Looking back, I'm pretty sure we all though Scott Sinclair was more than good enough after scoring 20+ goals and terrorising defenders in the Championship. He did well enough in the PL (enough for Man City to sign him) but was outshone by others.

Man Utd relegated from the Premier League would surely be unthinkable
The biggest fall from grace ever seen in English football even more so than Newcastle's relegation

That's not the Sunderland that will be playing in the PL.
How much will they spend? They're big club.

Bottom Three ...

Leeds United

Burnley

Sunderland .

Lump on.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

It's very hard to argue with that.

Leeds are always full of themselves, but they don't look good enough to stay up to me. They concede too many goals.

Burnley are bound to concede an extra 30-40 goals at a higher level, and they don't score enough. That's a bad combo.

And Sunderland are just rubbish, they'll need to plough all their promotion windfall into the team just to stand a chance of being 17th.

The only side currently towards the bottom who look really vulnerable are Wolves, they've been doing an "us" the last three years ie selling all their best players and not reinvesting.

Other than that you can't see Spurs, MU, and West Ham having seasons as bad as this one.

Leeds will 100% come straight back down if they don't replace Meslier

My main takeaway from this is that Sheff Utd must be wondering how in the world they didn't get promoted this season. They finished with a points total that would have been sufficient for automatic promotion in the majority (but not all) of the past 10 seasons, comfortably breezed through the semi final and only gave up three shots on target in the whole game, two of which were from outside the 18 yard box.

Unfortunately for them both of those shots were worldies and the Sunderland keeper made one excellent and one world class save to keep them in it.

But as many have said, Wilder is a bit of a prick so I don't regret his failure one little bit.

Think Wilder will be gone for next season along with Hamer and O'Hare. Also Moore will be at Wrexham

Best thing about Leeds being in the PL next season is that some of Wales' most important players should get regular football at the top level in the run-up to a World Cup that we will hopefully qualify for.
