• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

WRU to announce cut to two teams as full details of seismic plan emerge

I think - despite all the dysfunction and mismanagement - there is an outside chance that half of these 2 teams will live in Cardiff. The rest of Wales can all go and frick themselves!

And then in 2035 we'll be down to 1 team (Cardiff)

Whichever one is cut will just move into the English system, it'll be division 3 to begin with but they'll rise up quick enough

Right, so Cardiff will reign supreme in 2035, eh? I'm picturing tumbleweeds rolling through the stadiums of everyone else. The thought of one Welsh team just chilling, unopposed, is both hilarious and bleak.

And the other team just hops the border and joins the English leagues? That's a pretty cheeky workaround. Imagine the headlines: "Welsh Wanderers conquer League Two!" They'd be bloody legends. It also kind of makes you wonder about the long-term viability of the Welsh league, doesn't it? If they can just jump ship to England, what's the point of sticking around for a one-team show? This makes me want to create a meme about it - I should add it to the other posts.

I profess to have little understanding (and even less interest) in the machinations of Welsh regional rugby. My interest only extends as far as what becomes of both Saint Helens and Rodney Parade.

Presumably the worst case scenario for Saint Helens is it continuing to host Swansea, and that the plans for redevelopment are scrubbed or at the very least scaled back.

The future for Rodney Parade seems altogether darker. Newport don't play there, so if Dragons go to the wall then the owners will want to cash in on the value of the land. That leaves Newport County's ground arrangements in a degree of jeopardy.

Perhaps this will turn out to be a simple case of the WRFU sabre-rattling in order to press the two western regions to sign the latest financial agreement. Let's see.

No, it’s not that. The opposite is true. The western regions have been blocked from signing PRA25 by the WRU to force a merger or reduction in professional clubs. Given that the Llanelli ground exists and is fit for purpose, it’s quite hard to see the substantive arguments for StH development using public money.

It’s all a mess, caused by 30 years of the WRU taking the wrong decision every single time. They will do so again, and all the chickens are home to roost now.

Silly, overcomplicated minority sport that has only maintained a gradually dwindling interest in Wales due to it being an excuse for an all dayer.

In my experience, followed by an awful lot of smug, self-satisfied bastards who look down on football fans as second class citizens and hooligans.

Hilarious how it's eating itself alive to try and stave off its inevitable demise. Pass the popcorn.

Oh ok. Ta.

I'd read a statement from Ospreys last May saying why they wouldn't sign it then a week later I read an article saying that consequently the WRU were giving notice on the current setup. But beyond thinking it's a massive cockup I'm very much an ignorant casual onlooker.

If you do this it surely has to be simply west and east wales

You then have an old school return to the scarlets, whites etc under this

I could get back onboard with that. Never felt anything for ospreys
