The discussion before I posted was regards a possible link to a new recruitment guy and one who is currently here.
One who is being cast and one who is possibly being ushered into the spotlight.

It goes on if Worth should be put onto the camera and more put out about him.
Then being discussed if that is needed.
Then onto certain names being put out and then expecting people not to be curious.

We all know the guy in question from his days here, we know he is quite a secretive guy and that's totally fair.

Do we go all in and let Worth become the face of it all or do we bring someone else in to do the face work and let Dimi carry on his work quietly?
We need to have a structure in place, it allows things to move on and prevents people asking questions and possibly disturbing things.

If Dimi is doing the work then he needs to be allowed to do it, we don't need people questioning a face needs to be seen! another figure to step in and be that buffer would be the right action for me so he can carry on the good work.

The longer something isn't put in place then the more questions that will be asked especially as it gets closer to January......it certainly exists and as long as it's not clarified then the "Nonsense," will continue.

The club needs to get things in place and protected so the good work already done can carry on without distractions.

Worth is no different to any other recruitment figure at a top club. Nobody hears from them other than the odd snippet. Someone mentioned Chris Vivell at Man Utd, I checked and can’t see a single interview with him but he’s also the man credited with signing Sesko etc

That's correct, you tend to find that the DOF is the front of it all and at United it's Jason Wilcox (DOF).
Sometimes the DOF has very little to do with the signings but will be the face alongside the player when he signs.

Maybe the club are planning on Gorringe doing that but if that is the case then they need to just concentrate on quotes from Gorringe going forward once new signings are made. That in itself indicates that he will be the face of these things.

I agree totally with ECB, if they are going keep dropping names in on quotes when new players are signed.....people can't then complain when fans start asking questions.

It's not me having a go, it's quite the opposite....it protects the club and individuals if these things are put in place and followed.

He finds the players so always interested to read what he has to say when players are signed, but that’s all we need to know. Fans can ask, but like other clubs, they will likely refuse to let their recruitment figures become public facing. It’s just not what happens.

Going to be interesting how they approach it going down the line. Early feel it's going to be the Gorringe route but I wonder if they will clarify that if it does happen.
Do they need to clarify it? No, probably not but if these reporters keep dropping little things in then they might need to do something to put the matter straight.

Some of our online armchairs need to get a grip - they have no divine right to know who is pulling what strings at our Club.

I think most would have an idea on that.
Unfortunately, postings can be made to correct and just as easily to discourage if it doesn't suit.

No one is entitled to know what goes on but it's a dangerous line to tow if respect and honesty isn't given to the lifeblood of the club....the fans.

Clubs certainly need to be careful when posting online, many things can come back to bite on the backside if the true identity is discovered.......footballers have been caught out for historic posts.

I think you have to ask yourself why does a reporter drop little things in. I have my own theory but doubt anyone in club feel as if they need to clarify anything and good on them for that. All that matters is on the pitch.

I do ask myself that question but there isn't always a definitive answer and certainly various reasons.
It's not always in the clubs best interests to answer them as much as they don't need to answer them if the reporter and their audience needs correcting.

I would disagree regards all that matters is on the pitch given our history of things going wrong off it.

True but I honestly have had only positive vibes since the new ownership group took over. Sure there's been some people let go but none of us know what went on. I just want to see this team under Sheehans leadership perform. We need bums on seats and its those performances that will drive people back not what nameplate is on an office door.

I have no interest in who Adam Worth is, and if it wasn’t for the potentially spurious Dimi connection it would barely be discussed. If he is perceived to be doing a good job he should be allowed to get on with it. Whatever happens he won’t be around forever so let’s just hope he is successful whilst in post.
