From Liberty to Injustice; the solution to the Championship’s referee woes?

I also think they need to force refs into a decision. If it’s not a penalty then it’s a free kick to Millwall and a yellow card for Vipi.

To do nothing and just play on defies logic really.

The review system would be a good intervention to have as the dugouts can establish very quickly on their tablet screens whether or not a mistake has been made by the officials on the field of play.

However, I would allow for 3 reviews per team, just like it is in tennis, with a wrong call reducing the amount of reviews by one each time, until the manager/coach is left with zero reviews to fall back on.

To my mind this would be a fair tally of challenges, especially as there would probably be a time limit within which you can dispute the decision, and so a challenge could well have been made in the heat of the moment, which would result in a genuine mistake being made on the part of the manager/coach.

The balance of power at the moment, is too heavily tipped in the favour of what are at times completely incompetent officials, who make decisions seemingly on a whim with too much frequency throughout a season.

This would be a great way to even things up, so that the manager/coach and their respective teams, and by extension the fans of that team, don’t feel as powerless as they currently are when the referee and his cohorts get it so obviously and terribly wrong.

Another thing that can be changed for the better, is for the veil to be lifted on the replays of the incident in question, by putting them on the big screens that frequent most stadiums these days.

Why the footage of the incident being reviewed is so shrouded in mystery is, well, something of a mystery to me.

As it stands, it’s as if the fans within the stadium are being barred from seeing what should be shown for all the world to see.

My feelings on this is, let the spectators see what is being adjudicated on.

Let there be no hiding place for the officials if they still decide to ignore what is not just in front of their eyes upon review, but in the front of everyone’s eyes in the stadium.

I for one, would welcome any changes that improve what is currently a flawed review system that still allows the referee to get away with their incompetences/biases.

Having just watched Match of the Day it’s hard to argue with that.

How they came to some of the conclusions, despite having access to all technology, I have no idea. Simply a case of human error (incompetence).
Total incompetence! What get up my nose is this; they know it and don't care a damn what Joe Public says! There is no accountability and as such they know they can get away with it! The sad thing is, it ain't going to change unless the matter is brought to the attention on a large scale. The bottom line is, they don't give a toss about the fan or views! I appears they get off winding up everyone involved in the game except the power players who are dictating anyway! This is my opinion, and opinions are like noses. Everyone has one and they come with a couple of holes in right! Everyone seeing it from this perspective knows I'm 100% right! They've created a loop like a dog chasing its tail. They deliberately created it that everyone blames the VAR teams and Ref's etc... so it doesn't come back on them. This is what politicians do all the time and as always they get away with it because they misdirected the blame. For example; it's not my fault it's their as they point the finger. Everybody is looking where the finger is pointing and mid the prediction by the person who is at fault!

If you want answers and a result then you need to get the alternative media on our side for an investigation that will expose exactly what they are up too!!!

What i cant understand for the life of me is why didn't the linesman step in he would have had a perfect view looking along the line, basically, he shat out.
Thought the exact same thing, I can almost understand the ref not giving it. There is no excuse of the lines man not to long, they were directly in line with it.

Absolute joke.

Just to add, the Swansea City playing today should be in the top two. Sheezy it not to blame for our present position. In fact he is doing a amazing job. We all see it, but the player's heads drop when they see obvious and now blatant decisions going again them. It effects their spirit during the game and the performance drops. That's understandable but they have to find a way to raise above that! Sheezy is limited in what he can say and cannot say because it comes back on the club! I call that a form of blackmail, "How dare you criticise the governing body" right? The same governing body who makes all the rules. In short, clubs like Swansea can't rise to their full potential because they are bound by legalism and implications that could cost them dearly! Put this together with my previous comment and now you are seeing it objectively and the bigger picture! It is great to have "people" like Snoopy Dog and Luka Modric onboard. The former would have some idea of the bigger picture. Everyone has restrains on them in some form or other, but Swansea City are different to most clubs (no disrespect to any other club!). They have been in the mire, struggling but they found a way to overcome the odds set against them. The Americans who recently left tried to distroy that spirit of fighting against the odds and overcoming them. It was clear for all to what they were up to. Once these Americans got wind what the fans and club saw what they were up too they could get out quick enough. Those who came on board were clearly fans and wanted to help. As fans we started to learn to trust them (which I'm sure the new owners could understands why after what the Jack Army had already been through recently with the previous owners!).
Every club in the world saw these battles and how the club managed to survive. Many emulated it with success what Swansea City did in the early days of 2001! We were written off but we had enough energy and air in our lungs with one last effort again Hull to rise and fly.
However, at time hight of the club's success the power players set over the Americans to do a hatchet job on the club. Make no mistake this is a fact. The stats and records show exactly the case! These power players hated this example the Swans set for the world to see. I am 100% sure they were brought in for this one reason; to distroy that spirit. The last thing the power player's wanted was seeing clubs being successfully without their help and control! They had to crush it as an example to the rest of the onlooks and they almost succeeded! However, like aways, the Swans and the global fans found a way to get behind their club. We are all in this together, so "Spead your wings you silver Swans and rise and fly away"!

If we criticise our own club when we see the fight within the club to be successful, then we are doing their job for them. It only takes one to through in the seeds of doubt that would start the ball rolling of others to jump onto. Like a knitted jumper with a lose thread, if you don't fix it it unravels and falls apart! Every supporter new and old are valued by everyone attacked to Swansea City Football Club. The more the merrier I say, come joint the party, your most welcome to the family of the Jack Army!!! The world of politics rant about being one right, so let all you Jack Bast**ds out there be as one. We are up against it, but we've done it before and let's do it again. The Key is having fun in doing it, and say to the power player's, "Read them and weep" 😁! Come on you Swans 🦢⚽👏😁🍻

Never give up hope because that what they want to take from you! The thing about hope, it never disappoints us, nor does it make us ashamed!

The use of VAR; we either continue with the extremely poor and incompetent officiating at matches, or we bite the bullet and accept some form of technological support - whether in the form of VAR or a trimmed-down version...

The most clear fact it's that PGMOL referee standards are in the shitter.

I made the trip from the US to watch yesterday's match and could see the clear penalty yesterday with my own eyes. It was clear. It was intentional. Yet waved away by the ref who was standing right there. The anger and frustration of this, and all previous clear errors, it's genuine and completely reasonable. These decisions can make or break clubs, result-wise and financially.

There is something clear amiss here, and it's deliberate! The world will a completely different place one year from now and football will still be the same until steps are taken to intervene these comedy of errors! The game has never been this bad as a spectators sport. The Birish game is a spotlight on a global stage and some are doing everything in their power to spoil it!
