• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

Yeah, I don’t buy the argument that these new recruits aren’t good enough. Sheehan had less options last year and did a good job. To me it just looks like the players aren’t certain of what to do, QPR just did the basics right, it wasn’t a great performance by them but they had clarity in what they did. That doesn’t seem to be the case with us.
Completely agree. We need to get back to basics -- like getting the ball forward and into the opposition goal!

Sheehan must surely see this!

Agree Widell must start Saturday, we are far too predictable and slow in attack, there was zero service to idah last night before the red card, too easy to defend against, the mindset has to change
I don't want to compare QPR to Man City and others..BUT there is a very different attacking approach that these teams take compared to the swans.
Where we are old school, constantly trying to create spaces to whip in crosses. Other teams are sliding passes into runners in the 18 yard box and then looking for cut back passes. The QPR goal was only one of multiple times that they carved us open in this way.
We need to have way more variety in our attacking with runners taking up these dangerous positions and attack through central areas with short measured passes - otherwise we will continue with the dinosaur attacking stats we see above.
Also - I don't give a flying fuck what he looks like in training - Widel starts for me (or at least gets 30 minutes) he has so much energy and attacking intent compared to anyone else we have in the advanced midfield role.

It will probably be the dressing room that decides, heads deffo went down after the goal, hence we showed nothing and the frustration at the non pen and sending off,
if AS cant wont change, the players will just give up.
it seems the plan at the beginning was to hold out, and then go for it at the last quarter, all thrown in a bin with their goal.

That post rings true.
I'm feeling a bit better than I was last night, I was fuming with yesterday's game especially the first 20 odd minutes.
The players put a shift in last night and could have come away with something in the end but I feel formation and set up has let them down from the start.

We go for Saturday and hope a few lessons have been learned from last night.

After the dust has settled from a pretty abject showing against QPR I still think we need to give this squad and manager time

Sheehan needs to go with a settled side and formation and we can't keep changing managers on a constant basis, he really needs rediscover the formula of playing which earn't him the gig in the first place

The difference between now and his interim role was he had nothing to lose as opposed to now he has everything to lose, hence the rather tepid way of playing.

I still feel something is off. The stats are not pretty reading and that for me has turned me alot this week. I'll support and hope he gets out of this but we cannot lose tomorrow. That's my mindset.

The line up today will tell us a lot on Sheehans mindset and probably his future.

The side is crying out for creativity yet this defensive set up will see him gone very soon if this continues.

The formation is disjointed with focus on possession without actually threatening teams then we give the opposistion clear easy chances to score.

Fans are bored with it all with a sub 12k crowd for a Saturday game not too far away.
