Rob Edwards just got a Premier League job because Gary O'Neill turned it down. Teams like Forest, West Ham, Leeds or Fulham could easily hire him in the next 6-12 months and it would not look out of place.

Maybe it will work out for the best for us with Hellberg being snapped up at Boro, I still think it's a medium risk gamble.

Would be gutted personally, think he would have been a good fit for the club. Should have gone for him in the summer instead of appointing Sheehan, who was a complete waste of 15 games this season. Still think we are an attractive option for some decent manager though the candidates mentioned are quite underwhelming.

If he goes there and doesn't hit the ground running then things could turn ugly for him rapidly. They are looking up at this point and would obviously like to continue to do so. The gamble would be more for us and our current position.

With players, successful or not, we can later sell and get at least some money back, with managers we have to offer a decent contract and give a big payout if unsuccessful.

How can he even get a work permit? We tried signing a fella from Portuguese 2nd division, a season or 2 agao and he failed to get one. The rules are supposed to be harsher for managers for players aswell no?

Don’t know the rules fully but he worked at Liverpool for years then in Austria with Salzburg.

I think he’s had a 4 year spell with Liverpool a few years back so not sure if that would help with work permit?

Bookies list is as uninspiring as anything. Rogers and Carrick will never happen. Who the fuck is Matos? 2nd division of Portugal are stooping that low and would he even get a work permit?

I suggested Solsjaker and Rydstrom I'll also throw Will Still in the mix but there is 0 links to them at this time. FYI I don't think it will be Russ but the market is awful. We left ourselves competing with 3 big clubs and we've been burnt again by it. Now we're scrambling around again.

If the option is between this Matos and Martin I could confidently say i would rather have Martin and that is the scariest thought going.

Let's look at this logically.
Hellberg surely wouldn't be the only option and alot of work would have been put in and other candidates will be on the horizon.
Its tedious and frustrating but let's see how this goes.

We were linked to him when we were looking at Helberg the first time. It wouldn't suprise me if we revisited it.
