• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Tried Romas in Gorsenion and their place in Penclawdd at a later date , not blown away .

Vicarage Road chippie was another go to eatrie on a quick visit in the area , they were good .

Last time I passed which was a while ago the place was up for sale and no piping hot chips any more , what a loss .

My personal favourite is Otranto. Basically a town within a fortress on the coast. Really cool place with plenty of restaurants etc.

About 30-40 mins South of Lecce.
Looks very much like Giovinazzo. I get here four or five times a year with work and stay here as it’s within 15 mins drive of the office. A lovely place all year round. Defo need to venture right down south though.

Nice.

Locorotondo is another place I enjoyed, albeit North of Lecce.

My family are from a village/town called Carovigno. Not a lot there but a nice sleepy square. Ostuni is close, which is another nice place.

I saw a football match in Bitonoto in early September 2020, I think it was Italian 3rd or even 4th division. It was the first live football in months after being starved of it due to Covid restrictions. There was about fifty of us in the crowd, strange times back then. If you’ve been to Ostuni then you must have been to Alberobello? I’m going to aim to get down there during Whitsun week, have mapped out a bit of a road trip. Will fly into Brindisi as Bari is too far north and this will allow time to get right down to the heel.

Yes, have been to Alberobello a couple of times. I have a miniature trullo on my windowsill as we speak. 😎
