• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Actually watching this morning for the first time in years, Rooney!!!

ffs how standard of the prog has changed, the chin would be horrified!

Gave up on Football Focus & MOTD years ago. Tick boxing and shite pundits. Not worth the effort to watch it.

EDIT - All-dayer, already had a few - box ticking, but I'm sure tick boxing would be interesting, could be the new sport to follow, PPV, image rights, they'd have to be really small belts for the world championship.

I find the performative complaining over the pundits eternally amusing. As if anyone ever watched MOTD for the pundits/analysis. It's all about the highlights.

BBC and Sky making the individual game highlights available online has made it redundant unless you don't use the internet.

Funnily enough I stuck it on in the background this morning, probably for the first time in years. I didn’t really watch it so can’t comment on the punditry etc.

I think it’s just the oversaturation of football on TV (particularly if you have Sky) plus the PL product, I find, is just so soulless compared to what it used to be. Gone are the days where I’d look forward to hearing that theme late on a Saturday night, but I think that comes with age and responsibilities too. I’m normally asleep by then these days, lol.

BBC know they are on a sharp downward trend with it , the in game highlights are up quickly on the website (and youtube), it's not long for this world I feel.

Tick boxing eh?
Is that like flea wrestling? 😉
In the blue corner we have Ixodes ricinus. In the red corner we have Argas persicus. My money is on Ixodes as it’s a Hard Tick.

MOTD used to be an event, as much about Saturday nights as last orders and a walk to the club or the curry house. So much football on these days that nobody cares. Mind you, the days of Lynam, Hill and the young Alan Hansen was a golden era for me.

Yarp, being of a certain age... (deaf, half blind and a walking wind machine) I find listening to the likes of Rooney and the spitting scouser hard work as I need to really concentrate, and cant handle that as Im to busy im not going to leak somehwere.
