• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Being an old fart and at the game.

Then Arsenal at home record attendance at the Vetch
I was a ten year old at that Arsenal game on the sleeper bank, right at the front behind the goal, up against the railings (still got two furrows down my forehead 😂). Remember Keith Todd being pushed in the back in the box by Ure as he was about to shoot, ref not interested.
A note for all the youngsters reading this, the attendance was 32,796!

2 of my favourite games ,

Swans nil nil with Liverpool .
Lee Bracey in goal what a performance by our young keeper .
Liverpool with their best side couldn't score .
Went to watch the replay lost 8 nil (or 8 - 1 )

Swans 3 West Brom 2
Brilliant game Sean Mccarthy & Andy Melville scored .
Can remember Keri Andrews going on a couple of maisey runs .

Oddly I went looking for that West Brom game but couldn’t find any coverage of it, remember it well - cracking game of football

I think we went out to Hull in the next round and Frankie Bunn broke Dudley Lewis leg

I'm sure we'd get the same attendance with an extra 12,000 seats at the dot com.

The Sheff Utd game stands out for me, such a great away day.

The West Ham game, I remember we were out on the lash on the Kingsway the night before tickets for the home game went on sale, and after the clubs closed, we walked straight over to join the queue for tickets.

I was going to mention being at the Arsenal 32,700 game at the Vetch ( sardines ain't in it on the North Bank 😂)..but then I double- checked and it was the fourth round 😊

Still, an experience never to be forgotten
