• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

Hmm, my thread got zapped. OK then.

66 and defo the biggest upset of my time

Mid table National League NORTH and 2-0 at 90 minutes. All Palace got was a consolation goal

Previous best for me was Ronnie Radfords strike, Ricky George with the winner v Newcastle in 1972 but Hereford were in the Southern League one division higher than Macclesfield

Biggest league placing difference overturn in football league history
117 places (the previous highest was 108 by Chase Town vs Port Vale)

I can thank the BBC comms for that one

(Reposted after JackHarris DM'd me to say he accidentally nuked it :D )

Margate 1 Swansea 0 was considered a massive embarrassing shock back in the day, so this is off the scale. Given the ridiculous money in the PL, and involving the holders, this has to be the biggest shock ever.

The ones I remember that were huge at the time
Hereford 2 Newcastle 1
Colchester 3 Leeds 2
Sutton 2 Coventry 1
Sunderland 1 Leeds 0m(final)
Southampton 1 Man Utd 0 (final)
Swindon 3 Arsenal 1 (league cup final)

Well looks like they banked around a nice 120 thou or so for that and probably another 30 or 40 if they lose the next round

Players had better be given a belated xmas bonus out of that
Its crazy when you think that all of that bonus is probably not even as much as Guehi's weekly salary.
And thats just one player of their squad

Was there for that Margate humiliation.
