• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

Joel Ward

For me Ward's mistakes that he made were more due to lack of time on the pitch / understanding with team mates with the exception of that one back pass which he mopped up himself to his credit.

I saw enough there to be optimistic about his impact on the side for the rest of the season

I think he’ll need to be used in certain games.

He’s not going to be your Tymon type wing back bursting forward, up and down the pitch.

Buy defensively he looked solid and you could just see his quality and experience.

In games where we expect to attack and be on the front foot then I expect Galbraith or Key to get the nod.

Away from home and against tougher opposition when we may need to be a bit more conservative then Ward plays.

I think he's going to be useful around the club off the pitch as well as on it.
Young players will have respect for a guy who has been captain of a Premier league club. Wales and Yalcouye need a hug and reassurance right now and hopefully Ward will have a part to play in that.

Look, I thought he did ok and it’s obvious that he was is strong player and had a good presence on the pitch.

But he was exhausted after one run up the wing and their second goal was largely caused by him firstly not being able to keep up with their wide player and then failing to prevent the cross.

We all hope that he can get to match fitness quickly but he’s some way off that at present.

If Key had defended for their second goal like that he would have had such grief from some of those who are saying how well Ward did.

He sprinted up the pitch! Every player breaths heavily after an anaerobic sprint. I don’t think he looked more gased than anyone else.

I also watched the goal back a few times and he was not completely at fault. He kept up with and close to the player but the cross came in but, he was close to stopping it.
The time Key gets stick from our fans, is when he’s completely lost marking of the player or is nowhere near the cross.
That just didn’t happen during that goal.

Should have done better in my opinion in stoping the cross by Bostock, but hey, it's easier to blame Fisher.

Fisher has to do better with that cross, the finger of blame for the goal has to rest with him.

If Ward deals with it an nips it in the bud, Fisher doesn't have to do anything. Chances are though that Vigaroux would have prevented both goals.

It's a bread and butter cross for a goal keeper. Not wanting to slate Fisher, he's just not good enough at this level.
