VAR - Man City

As Neville said on comms, ask any proper football person and they’d say just let the goal stand and get on with it.

I don't understand the outrage over that. Szob clearly pulled back Haaland - a red card (correctly). Haaland then fouled Szob, who possibly could have stopped the ball crossing the line otherwise. You can play advantage after the first offence, but you can't just ignore the second offence. VAR perfectly correct in my book.

“There is no football person who would disallow that goal”.

G.Neville, 08/02/26.
He’s worked you out, Daps 😂

Complete nonsense by VAR once again.
2 wrongs don't make a right unfortunately.
Szoboszlai fouls Haaland and then Haaland fouls Szoboszlai. Both fouls.

We all want to see goals but you can't be giving it and ignoring the rules.
I wouldn't lose any sleep with Gary Neville's comments given he said seconds after seeing the video from VAR that it won't stand after his original statement.

Imagine that goal going in against us in the 90th minute and it's 0-0!

Unless the ref blows for the initial grab of the shirt on Haaland by the Liverpool player that is a goal everyday of the week.

Go and stand in the corner with Mr Ploppy.

What's your justification for ignoring the foul by Haaland on Szoboszlai? The fact that Szoboszlai fouled Haaland first, so they cancel out? Bizarre.
Yeah yeah, we all know the rules now that we have seen it played back. Pawson didn’t blow up, and I don’t blame him. This has been brought on by the law makers who deny refs the ability to make common sense decisions.

Pawson didn't blow up because he's pants. And like most refs and linos now they let the play finish and hope VAR will sort it out retrospectively. Which it did correctly in this case. Honestly, I don't know what people (Gary Nev, looking at you) are watching these days. It was obvious to me in real time what the eventual outcome would be - and I was right.

If the referee didn't blow, then it should be a goal. Those sat in the VAR caravan are slowly killing the enjoyment of the game.
