Definitely should take what we get from him. Anything 10mill and above I'd accept.

As for a ST if Vip goes they'd obviously bring one in but we'd have to cross that bridge when we come to it. To get promoted from this league you have to sell your players especially when they are overvalued to then reinvest.
Another one who wants him gone ffs turn it in

I honestly don’t know how much that podcast actually watch us to be honest. Before we appointed Matos, one of them was saying we should appoint Skubala from Lincoln who is the polar opposite of a Swansea City manager in terms of style.

VP has things to work on but to not rate him is some serious rage-bate. I think one or both of them support Derby. They wouldn’t be turning Vipotnik away if they had the chance to sign him.
They seem to mostly rely on stats. It was pretty telling that they referenced the games we lost as a reason for us not to get too excited, if they watched those games they would be aware of just how close a lot of them were and how the performances were still strong.

With a hearty transfer fee and the money Vipi would earn at the top level he’s gone.
I don’t currently see him as being highly successful at the top level though in exactly the same way as what I said about Bony.

Said from day 1, with VP there's a striker in there.
If a striker only touches a ball 2 or 3 times in a game and those touches are near the half way line, how is he supposed to score?
Guessing that the russy boy fan boys are the ones saying sell VP for £8-£10 million.
The ones who thought that russy boy should have come back when Shee's was binned.
The ones who thought VP was a waste of space.
Also the ones thinking Idah is a striker, because Brenda is never wrong.
There isn't a striker in Idah btw.
Attacking midfielder yes. Winger maybe. Striker-no. Very similar to Culls in style.
Personally I hope we can keep this team together for next season.

A couple of additions in defence/ midfield plus a striker, maybe clearing 2 or 3 players out and we'll definitely be challenging the play offs or the automatic places
Im hoping that Wolves/west ham(if they come down) Forest or whoever have a culture shock and be challenging for relegation rather than the top end.
Plenty of examples in the last few seasons.

Slight difference in that Bony was highly successful at the top level, he had 25 goals in 54 PL games for us (a better goalscoring record than Michu). Vipotnik hasn't played a minute in the PL.

His scoring record at Man City was OK, if not great, given he struggled for regular minutes. Not a surprise seeing as Aguero was their main striker.

So Bony didn’t make it at a higher level than Swansea City then did he?
He tried to go higher and his career went downhill from Man City though his bank balance went up which I was alluding to.

Most Swans fans knew Bony wasn't a top 6 player ,
For me if he went to any other Premier League team he would have done well .
Vp may improve to get to the Premier League.
Bony proved he could score at the top level just chose the wrong side .

Technically he was at exactly the same level. Except he went from playing in the Europa League to the Champions League.

I do appreciate your overall point though, just enjoying a bit of pedantry.

It’s a bit like Thomas Frank leaving Brentford for Spurs or Brendan leaving for Liverpool.
You’ve got to go for it but far more is expected.

It's how you get promoted from this league without parachute payments you've got to sell and reinvest.

I don’t remember Sunderland Coventry and Brentford keeping a hold of Jack Clarke, Ross Stewart, Hamer, Gyokeres, Watkins and Benrahma ect.

You sell one player and buy 2 maybe 3 and keep the cycle going untill you get a lucky season where 1 or 2 of the parachute payment teams collapse and you take your chance.

All depends on your owners and their financial muscle. I don't feel we should be selling your best players each season off you're looking to progress.

The club needs to build a squad capable of building momentum.

It all depends on how we stay within FFP rules.

We build a squad capable of building momentum by smart purchasing and selling high, thus allowing us to reinvest.

Not an expert on FFP, if we grow commercially the need to sell our best players on a regular basis becomes less and less, selling a player to keep the lights on is a failed model if we're looking to get promoted.

If these owners have the ambition I think they have, the days of selling our best players to the first club that show an interest are behind us.

Obvisouly we can't keep players from going on to bigger and better things, the sale of the player has to be right for the player and the club.

I'd agree with that, but then you have to take the players and especially their agents into account. Players want to play at rthe highest level and agents are in theoir ears telling them they have a short career and x, y, z teams are interested in them.

Another view also, if we hold a player to his contract and won;t sell, the best young players won;t come to us to be locked in.

I get where you're coming from but the reality is, we're not Liverpool or Man Utd, we're a mid level team and players see a good team with a good reputation which would be a perfect stepping stone.

Agreed that the club shouldn't stand in the way of a player going on to bigger and better things. We need to do what is right for everyone concerned.

If a Liverpool come knocking it's doubtful we'd stand in the way. If a Sheffield United come knocking I'd expect the player to honour their contract.
