17 year old to me is still a child, being around adults with drink and drugs freely available in a party, where were her parents aye, but hey ho. She can't defend herself, she's dead.

She was undoubtedly trafficked and coerced and had no choice. But she can't testify, so they need others. That's why they are pursuing the abuse of public office stuff. Appallingly, in general, there's probably more chance of actually gaining conviction for something like that than rape or abuse against women anyway - remember Ched Evans. At least for this charge they can't victim blame.
