Summer Investment

But what was our record before that? I think it was GWFX, which I think was £2 million.

So lets say we beat that by 500k and it’s now £2.5m shirt sponsorship instead of maybe 500k (guess).

It’s not going to catapult us into the stratosphere. Fans appear to be taking this and running with it and it’s growing arms and legs.
Quite right.

I think the pipe dream is that one of the businesses associated with the new owners would be making an outsized sponsorship bid. While possible, I find it unlikely.

I think your scenario where we're even looking at something in the £3-5m range, best case, might be more likely.

I think there might be governance issues surrounding ownership sponsorships and the potential for inflated values as a means of bypassing PSR rules anyway.

Gosh, there's a blast from the past. Haven't seen Julie in donkeys years, lived just around the corner from me. My sister worked there for a good few years.
Her sister Kim was in the same class in Clwyd with me. I lived opposite them, so also round the corner from you. They were a family and a half. If you are in your mid-late 60s we might well know each other.

I think this is possible, but Death Row are a bit mythologised rather than a huge label at this point. Virtually all of their existing artists are just Snoop Dogg and his mates, and Snoop's recent output is not a career high to say the least. In essence, I'm not actually sure there's a huge amount for the label to kickback from with a shirt sponsor
Death Row deal with Swansea is very much a loan type deal for its usage. I'm going for Xbox or some Activision gaming thing for Sponsorship Fortnite etc. As he has links to these. Or maybe some branded drink. Just wild guess.

There would be, it’s not something that can happen as I understand it. Feels like fans setting themselves up for disappointment again.

Almost 70, lived in The Crescent, also went to Clwyd, remember Alan Williams being the teacher, he hated football and never let us play it. Rugby this , rugby that , hated it.

The fact that we still have Reviva for "atleast" another season as our front the shirt sponsor probably will disappoint them more aswell.

I don’t think we’re going to suddenly be able to spend millions more than we have done but people go on about revenue all the time. Surely if ours increased by a noticeable amount it would help us in some way?

I still think a lot of our summer spending will be because of the 15m+ sale of Vip though, if we spend more on one player it’ll be because of that.

My guess is the extra sponsorship already funded Leo Walta, which is why it was a loan with a pay later type deal.

I would hope after it was delivered that the extra sponsorship is worthy of it. I remember thinking at the time that I hope Gorringe has thought it through.
Even if it beats a previous sponsorship, if that sponsorship was modest then maybe he should have held back in stating this new sponsorship in that podcast.
All well and good trying to excite the audience but a bit of reality to the situation and knowing the audience is a general understanding that needs thought in the position.

Hopefully it's something to be proud of and will help in a major way. I think we need to be cautious and not to expect anything of any major note at this stage.

Any extra sponsorship is worth having, but you are right that people shouldn’t jump to wild theories because it’s extremely unlikely to be anything close to reality given the regulatory restrictions on ownership investment, that includes companies associated with any ownership, which means any sponsorship will be at market value regardless of source.

The good news is that a record sponsorship deal for us means that our market value/brand is clearly increasing in the eyes of sponsors due to the connections with Snoop and Modric which can only be a good thing.

My guess is it may well be a record sponsorship deal for the club, but still a very modest amount in the great scheme of things.
