Bellamy is doing just fine.

We’re a tiny nation with limited resources and have come inches from reaching a play off final for a World Cup.

I can guarantee you that if we sacked Bellamy there won’t be a long line of quality manages chomping at the bit to take the job.

A little perspective is needed.
Absolutely right. I don't agree with his subs last night as others have said, but let's have a bit of perspective and recognise the leaps forward we've taken under him. Have we forgotten the sh*tshow under Page already?

It was such fine margins last night. Until I saw the slomo replay of Dan James' shot which hit the bar, I didn't realise it took a little nick off the heel of a defender who knew nothing about it. It was just enough to deflect it up onto the bar and not into the net. If that had gone in, I think we would have won.

Definitely need some perspective on alternative managers. Steve Cooper, assuming he does well at Brondby for the next couple of years, would be a likely candidate in 2028.

Throwing the positives (and there are far more than 2 years ago at the end of Page’s reign) away in a roll of the dice would be silly IMO, when Bellamy has a 12-14 game run of competitive fixtures with pretty much guaranteed qualification at the end of it from September.

Shouldn’t be underestimated how much the players want to play for him as well with such a small pool. A centre forward breaking through at Championship level would be a huge benefit though - Iwan Morgan?

You’re not going to get a top proven European manager in - only need to look at other counties (outside the top 5-10) to see that. It’s either a mid-level manager on the international circuit, a recently retired player looking at cutting his teeth in management or an older manager who’s had enough of club football (the last 2 are usually from the country in question or have links to that country).

What i found difficult to watch was the overplaying out from the back such a risk we were fortunate not to concede .
The straight ball from the keeper is so poor .
I was shouting at my TV .
They need to mix it up .
They managed the game very poorly in that period, and overplaying didn’t help. Bit limited with options though as they had nobody to play the ball up to in order to relieve the pressure.

Another reason I’d have brought Sheehan on instead of Cullen tbf as he’d have been better at helping Ampadu dictate the tempo. Dan James looked knackered l, but I’d also have kept him on instead of Johnson so they could use his pace in behind for another 10 minutes at least.

Yep that’s correct. All teams have to play the same number of games in each window.

This systen has been the same since playoff senis and final replaced 2 legged playoffs. Not impacted us before as we won the semi for the Qatar WC & Euro 2024.

Tbf to UEFA and the national assiciations it’s the only way it’d work with 4/5 days notice, although I’d imagine less than 50% of us with tickets will actually attend (tbf I’m unlikely to bother as not a fan of friendlies at the best of times) on Tuesday night.
Were you forced to buy the ticket as part of a bundle, or had you gambled on us beating Bosnia?

Fine margins and the rub of the green etc.

We’ve seen with the Swans this season when subs have worked and when they haven’t, that’s just football

Oh, Bellamy should be kept on if he wants it. Getting rid would be stupid. He’s still learning and he’s as good as Wales will get. Better than many before as a manager, including Cookie (I know, controversial) in my opinion.

You could buy single tickets but everyone I knew bought the double header. Was the same for Finland & Poland two years ago. Can’t remember exactly what happened with the Ukraine game for Qatar, as there was the delay after the semi in March.

Right’o, I imagine there will be a few tickets resold on the cheap for Tuesday.

I would stick with Bellamy he is going to learn lots from last night ,
Game management was very poor ,
He says they had 4 centre forwards on the pitch unfortunately we only had 2 centre backs , Cabango should have been brought on defending crosses is what he he's good .
Last 10 mins plus added time is what teams do crosses into the box .

Changing the manager will not change the standard of players we have available. Bellamy has done well with what he has and is not afraid to give players an opportunity. With your Swans hat on how many would have been happy with Lawler's inclusion? A third tier centre half. But that's our depth of strength.

Lawlor very good.

You are right that said depth pants though. The irs tier players like colwill x2, kpakio, Cullen, Harris etc etc should be nowhere near international sides and wouldn't have been 5+ yrs agi

Looking back at the two Euros squads and the one in Qatar I’m not sure there’s much difference in the depth/quality of player when you get past the first 15/16 players. Despite the criticism he gets, Cullen’s numbers over the last 2/3 years at Championship level would have easily got him in all 3 squads.

Big part is being lucky with injuries for key matches - same for most countries at the level we’re at . Tbf to Lawlor and DeSilva they stepped up but having no alternative to Moore to start/come off the bench is really hurting us atm.

Yes, lack of proper striker killed us for years. Imagine a Bellamy type with bale, Ramsey et al

Indeed, Bellamy took a pay cut for the Cymru job from Kompany assistant...
