I think it was quite clear.

It's not what we wanted to see, we all wanted Parker to have an absolute Stormer and make us all stand up and go WOW but reality is that he struggled overall.

A loan with regular game time will help him and ourselves out massively, he needs to work on his positional and defensive side before he is considered someone who can challenge a championship starting position regularly.

I think purely on Matos comments alone about him having to improve his defence tells me we will be getting a RB in the summer and let's face it. It's over due by a few seasons. I would love to see Parker make a statement from now till end of season, and unsure what best option if it's staying or loan. I don't know enough about him to comment on his defensive side. But I would be interested to see more of him.

Absolutely. It's a bizarre view of the game to criticise a young player making his first appearance in a long time for struggling with the formation that was chosen that left him horribly exposed. The improvement in his performance defensively was clear when Ronald came on and he actually had a winger doing his job in front of him. Parker was good going forward all match.

The goal was down to a mistake from him and as others have said, he was clearly gutted about it. But he didn't let it knock him and he improved. Plenty of more senior players have made mistakes leading to goals this season also.

I thought he looked a lot like Key in that he was better going forward than defending. Not surprising if he has previously played on the right wing/right of midfield as I think people have mentioned. He deserves the chance to play more this season, with a formation in place that doesn't leave him exposed. There's no doubt in my mind that Galbraith or Key would have struggled in the first half yesterday in his place. Also Ward looked like a downgrade in the position once he was on the pitch.

Parker performed extremely well, and as detailed, zero support from anyone else, and left to try to marshall 2 of the opposition. It was only later on that anybody stayed close enough to the RHS of the pitch (attacking) that meant he could do his job more efficiently.

Spot on STJ. I felt sorry for him early doors and was left to stand alone whilst Cullen was moving infield and in turn exposed Parker.
It was helped with the Boro left sided player going off injured but Parker stayed in the fight and showed a good attitude and resilience as the match went on.
