Just not seeing it.

I agree that some of our players need replacing but your list goes way over the top, what i would say is that our starting 11 contains 3 or 4 that wouldn't be in a top teams squad nevermind 11.
It maybe a lot, but they are simply not good enough. There is a reason why we are 15th in league and it's because we have either average or below average players for this league.

The squad needs an overall

Goalkeepers and the striking depart is fine even with Cullen for 3rd choice striker.

The players that need to go are:-

Josh Key
Jay Fulton
Melker Widdell
Jisung Eom
Goncalo Franco
Ricardo Santos
Joel Ward
Oliver Cooper
Marko Stamenic
Zeidane Inoussa
Ronald
Interesting thoughts on who needs to go.

The ones I would disagree on is.

Widell
Franco
Stamenic
Inoussa
Eom
Fulton
Ronald (I'm on fence)

Ronald is a decent squad player who has a role to play in the team.
This is where I'm hot and cold about. I like what he offers, but always seems to have his moments of not getting past players. Yesterday was good example of how he can be positive on the team.

Ok so last night I asked for the sensible people on here to give me their opinions on yesterday’s performance.

Not really going to go over the game again but I simply don’t see the levels of improvement that some of you seem to be seeing.

Let’s be honest Vitor didn’t have to nudge the needle that far to improve on Sheehans tenure, the only difference I really see is at its most basic level….effort!!

Still have no idea what the game plan is other than a high energy press or headless chicken football, no overall improvement of quality or the ability to control the game.

I don’t think there’s been a single game including the hapless Wednesday match where we’ve managed to control or exert any authority on our opponents.

Vitor is a likeable guy and will have the opportunity to have a full pre season and some input into recruitment next season so I guess I’ll have to wait to see what he does then.

As for the four points claim that I made I genuinely hope we surpass that amount, not interested in being proven right or wrong that’s for the usual clowns on here.
You can look at the improvement all around the game stats, you can look at the higher attendance since Matos arrived - I guess many people think differently. We are far from challenging promotion but we ate certainly on the right track.

And one more thing: Matos inherited a squad with a limited ability to make changes to. Since Every football manager deserves to be judged based on “his” team, Personally, I would save my judgement to mid November.

I wasn't gonna comment on this thread as well I can't be bothered to get into any heated debate. But simply put, if know one can see the game plan and what we are trying to do (even the less educated - and I add myself into that) then maybe you should change your viewing habits and go watch some other sport 😂. It's clear what Matos is trying to do, in simple terms, add pressure on the opposition and understand when to press together in order to force errors that leads to quicker transition and pace. His ethos is built around fitness and intent and has stated in a number of interviews this will get you in the team. To many it's seen as headless running, but it's so much more to that. The problems that we have at moment is Matos is working with a team nearly half way through the season who was playing much slower and trying to add his approach and style into a team that was low on confidence and had lowest shooting stats. I firmly believe it Matos can get the players in the summer (RB), Defense and Wingers we can get into the top 10 comfortable next season.
Didn’t I say something similar in my original post only I condensed into one sentence.

We can all see that the game plan is based around a high press but what else? Where is the finesse in our football and where is the control and creativity?

The answer is simple we don't have the players for it as i explained earlier. Who is going to control a game when you have 8 players out of the starting 11 who's best work comes off the ball.

Tymon, Galbraith and Eom are the only 3 players who's best work is on the ball. Its a fundamental squad building and recruitment error that has to be rectified in the summer.

The style of play is dictated by the players you have.

Seems like you’re expecting to watch prime Barcelona football from a mid table championship side. Probably a reality check needed. We’re not going to be able to afford a squad that can pull that off.

More importantly that is not what is needed, football has moved on. And Matos is following that trend and playing with a high energy press. It’s working as well, we’ve earned enough points under Matos that we’d be pushing the top 6 if we had played the same way all season.

Next season despite peoples long shopping lists of new players, and talks of throwing out half the squad. I don’t think we need much more to progress. A huge focus on fitness over the summer players can keep up the intensity over longer periods, and a bit more quality in defence/ better defensive discipline. That should be enough to get us fighting for promotion.

I could tear your post apart but what’s the point Gordon? have a look at some of the sides that are above us in the league, do you really think their squads are that much better than ours?
Usual rubbish comments ( Barcelona ) from the usual group of posters.

Comprehension isn’t your strong suit is it? I’m not surprised though based on most of your posts. I literally implied I think the squad is fine.

But as you’ve gone there, yes based on squad values there are a lot of squads better than ours. We’re middling in squad value, and the top sides values are over double ours. And take Yalcoue and Nunes out and we’re bottom half.

Again I don’t think that’s a problem we’re one of the smallest clubs in the championship in terms of income and attendance. And I think we’re doing a good job with the tools we’ve got. Not only that but I think the club is making positive steps to grow both on and off the pitch.

This is why I can’t understand people like you who have nothing but negative things to say about the club. Compared to the past 5 years of dull football and a slow slide down the table, this time under Matos is positively refreshing. Not only that but we’ve got a great foundation of a squad, full of potential we can build from. I think it’s the most exiting time at the club since the premier league days.

Yes bit of an odd original list!

My opinion is that due to the excellent recruitment in the summer, we don't actually have a lot to do this pre season. I would like an excellent quick ball playing CB, but with some youth getting closer to the first team and Matos having a full pre season with the current squad, I tihnk we'd be in for a promising season

Loved my time in Comprehension School, top band I was butt, like I said not much point in having a discussion with a certain group on here.

He's a club shill mate, pointless arguing with them, everything is perfect mun, the Premier League beckons.. they're in cloud cuckoo land

Go and read some of the comments in the Sheff Untited match thread when we went 3-1 down , some of you have zero credibility that’s for sure.
