I think it was quite clear.

It's not what we wanted to see, we all wanted Parker to have an absolute Stormer and make us all stand up and go WOW but reality is that he struggled overall.

A loan with regular game time will help him and ourselves out massively, he needs to work on his positional and defensive side before he is considered someone who can challenge a championship starting position regularly.
I think purely on Matos comments alone about him having to improve his defence tells me we will be getting a RB in the summer and let's face it. It's over due by a few seasons. I would love to see Parker make a statement from now till end of season, and unsure what best option if it's staying or loan. I don't know enough about him to comment on his defensive side. But I would be interested to see more of him.

Cabango spent most of the time bailing him out unfortunately.
Which is why he should have been aware that there was no support for Parker on the right side of midfield.
Those of us in the east stand couldn't believe the way Parker was being hung out to dry. We had a debate as to whether Cullen or Franco was supposed to be helping him and came to the conclusion that nobody was.

Fair point.

Absolutely. It's a bizarre view of the game to criticise a young player making his first appearance in a long time for struggling with the formation that was chosen that left him horribly exposed. The improvement in his performance defensively was clear when Ronald came on and he actually had a winger doing his job in front of him. Parker was good going forward all match.

The goal was down to a mistake from him and as others have said, he was clearly gutted about it. But he didn't let it knock him and he improved. Plenty of more senior players have made mistakes leading to goals this season also.

I thought he looked a lot like Key in that he was better going forward than defending. Not surprising if he has previously played on the right wing/right of midfield as I think people have mentioned. He deserves the chance to play more this season, with a formation in place that doesn't leave him exposed. There's no doubt in my mind that Galbraith or Key would have struggled in the first half yesterday in his place. Also Ward looked like a downgrade in the position once he was on the pitch.

The lad looked crestfallen after their

I Was somewhat surprised that the senior players weren’t more proactive in that situation. I noticed Burgess and Franco going over to him and putting an arm on his shoulder and having a chat. Maybe a message to Matos would have helped? I didn’t notice the captain engaging.
Cabango clapped and looked to be shouting praise at Parker every time he did something good. He was full of encouragement.

The boy did well. To come back after the mistake showed guts and he's absolutely rapid. Should be starting RB until end of season..

Parker performed extremely well, and as detailed, zero support from anyone else, and left to try to marshall 2 of the opposition. It was only later on that anybody stayed close enough to the RHS of the pitch (attacking) that meant he could do his job more efficiently.

Spot on STJ. I felt sorry for him early doors and was left to stand alone whilst Cullen was moving infield and in turn exposed Parker.
It was helped with the Boro left sided player going off injured but Parker stayed in the fight and showed a good attitude and resilience as the match went on.

Apart from his pace (impressive) he was very hard to knock off the ball too. I am used to seeing our wide players falling over when they open the doors at the back of the stand.

The lad had a standing ovation because he kept in the battle and showed determination.
I think it was clear to most that he struggled defensively and got caught out of position quite a few times.
And he was up against two very good opponents and got virtually no help from those around him, indeed, a fit and on form Key would have had his hands full against Alex Bangura and Jeremy Sarmiento in those circumstances.

May well be the case but with all that information in hand, why wasn't Parker given the protection and a player put on the right side of midfield and asked to help out.

I will certainly say that Keys positioning would have been better in a few instances on Monday for sure.

Parker will certainly learn from the experience and clearly has potential.

He will get better the more he plays, same as Ben Davies, Joe Rodon ect.
As for sending him out on loan next season, absolutely not, nothing to be gained in this instance. Remember Shrewsbury sent Dan James back to us from his loan spell because he couldn't get on thier bench. The rest is history.

For me in just that showing, he showed he was more than useful. Had zero cover from culls (which really pissed me off).
Grew into the game and I thought was overall an impressive outing against one of the better teams in the division.
If Key keeps improving like he has done, this kid and maybe Lissah( if he is as good as the jocks say he is, we will be covered at RB.
Maybe more focus should be on who competes with Tymon next year?

The question needs to be asked, did he look better than Key?
I don't believe he was overall.
Also another question, does he get that back up RB spot before Lissah for next season?
I would say no also given the season that Lissah as had and how his reputation has grown whilst out on loan. It will also be of benefit that Lissah is mainly a CB so will help to cover there and RB next season.

Parker can certainly benefit from a loan in the same way that Lissah has this season.....Falkirk again!?
