To be fair he's doing what he is with someone else's squad at the moment.
Hopefully he'll have input into the type of players he's looking for to implement his system and we should judge him in 12 months time.

I realise that's fantasy island and he'll be judged by many after every game.

The play style is the main concern a lot of some of the less enthusiastic fans have and I do share it to an extent. We are currently playing in a similar way to when Sheehan took over - high press, lack of shorter build up play and a lot coming from out wide rather than through the middle. Is that going to be enough for us to progress up the table? Sides that do well normally like to control the ball in my opinion and it does feel as though we don’t have enough of it in games.

What we can’t really tell yet is what Matos wants to do with his own squad, we’ve seen a lot of what he’s done with Sheehans squad and I don’t think it’s be enough to progress fully.

None of us want to see what happened to Sheehan, happen to Matos so let’s hope we move forward come August 🤞

Well according to others..cough sites.. It will be his first 10 games of next season where he will be judged 🙄. Madness. Unless he collapses and does a Sheehan. I think, like you said we have to give him time. Yes I said that about most of our managers, so maybe I have poor judgment. But I'm bored of flip flopping managers. And think we are onto something with Matos.

Sheehan still lives next door to Matos which is crazy. Let's hope we don't have 2 fired managers in 1 street 😂

Over on Twitter there's a very vocal few calling for VM to be replaced

Are there really? Ive seen people saying what you've said and ive seen people questioning him, but I haven't seen anyone saying he needs to go.

But people saying there are people saying he needs to go is now growing a mind of its own.

I’m looking forward to this summers friendlies because last years friendlies were appalling. We were absolute garbage. I had high expectations after Sheehan steered us at the end of that previous season to then suddenly become atrocious. Roll on Matos, with some Matos arrivals and the team firing on all cylinders after their trip to Snoops LA pad and roller skating & skateboarding on the Venice Beach Boulevard!

“Would you look at that!” 😎

Last 6 games we have played 4 of the top 7
Every game we have played well at times .

Last 10 games we played 5 of the top 7

I think Matos is doing ok .
I'm sure he and his coaches are learning about what Championship football is all about .
If this season has taught us anything its just the harsh reality that we are so far away from the top clubs in this division.

To only pick up 7 points out of a possible 48 against the current top 8 is simply laughable.

To put into context Oxford have picked up 15 points from a possible 42 points against the same opponents.

Blackburn have also picked up 17 points from a possible 48 aswell.

I'd imagine that except from Sheffield Wednesday we must have the lowest points return from the current top 8 in the league.

Our aggregate score against this top 8 is 12 goals for and 30 against so the games really aren't close aswell. Work is desperately needed on both sides of the team in the summer window.
