Raising Attendances

Quite a few seem to have disappeared from near me. Up until last year we also had a block of a few seats where they never turned up, but kept the seats. Holding on to them in case we went back up I expect.
More money than sense by the sounds of it.

Got to be honest, I've not set foot inside the stadium since QPR

Let's get some decent grub for our fans, and away fans.
It doesn't take much to knock up something special, moreish and at very affordable prices.

Swansea has a bigger population than Norwich but it also has many rugby heads that just don't like football. I know quite a few of them. My elder brother hated football.

Norwich had an extended run in the top flight between 1971 and 1995 having 20 seasons there and may be a good reason why they built up and retain a larger collection of die hards compared to us with so many season in the bottom two divisions between 1970 and 2005. Our two season in Division happened when attendances dropped right away includin Newcastle United.

A mixture of egg chasers and many crap seasons has affected our support no doubt but using many seasons in the top two leagues does offer the opportunity to get a bigger core support even if our little stadium with small concourses will stop us being huge.

absolutely and better to get something decent inside rather than across the road to some bloody chain that gives nothing to the club

There are many ways in which to deliver Michelin-starred looking/tasting dishes for a fraction of the price most people would pay for. We could become famous for our Swansea Way Grub !!

Using local produce would be a good start.

I'm sure if Kidderminster could do it , we should certainly be capable of it. They probably had one of the best food at an away ground I've visited, and I've been to about 70 different stadiums.

You can agonise over food and drink and DJs at half time or whatever until the cows come home, but the reason people have drifted away is because the "product" i.e. the football team has been shite to watch for about 5+ years.

This has also coincided with a cost of living crisis that was always going to bite quite hard in what is far from one of the most affluent areas of the UK. Against that backdrop, the club has also in recent times started to creep up ticket prices. So it doesn't take a genius to work out why many people have made the choice to opt out.

It's easy to throw labels about like "plastics" etc, but that is too simplistic. The reality is far more complex.

Them and Cambridge...

Loads we could do with the great produce produced locally.

Just think of all the breweries etc...

* Give tickets to schools/sports club for kids to attend in the south stand

* Move away support to the NW corner

* Buy 1 ticket get 1 free certain games

* Free child ticket with adult ticket for south stand certain games

* Kids for £1 more often

* Permanent fanzone

* Local food & beverages

Find it laughable when tickets clearly aren’t selling they don’t offer deals all the time, better to fill some seats cheaper than having them empty.

They've already tried a lot of these things. They've had a negligible effect.

Bottom line is, we're not very entertaining to watch, and right now more and more people are becoming more skint.

If someone has only got £40-60 spare per month and they have to choose wisely what they want to do with it, watching the Swans probably isn't towards the top of their list.

It's not rocket science.

Sadly, this is the reality. Aged 11 from Caereithin, for me this would now be an unaffordable luxury. Then it was within scope of the 'working man' and their kids to attend. The football was agricultural, but committed, full blooded and honest, and so exciting for me as a day out. It's easy to lose touch with your core, and future. The WRU fell into the tourist trap and will shortly reap the whirlwind.
