Summer Transfer Window

I keep finding these little gems for all of you. And I would love it if this happened.

So if Fisher is sold. Why not Fabianski? On a free - 1 yr rolling contract.

He reclaimed his spot in the West Ham starting 11 mid season and made 16 starts for them in PL at age 39. Just turned 40.

Before you all pooh pooh this thought consider this from Fabs back in January during an interview with Viaplay Sport Polska

"Fabiański revealed that he harbors a personal dream of playing once more for Swansea City in the Premier League or a cup match. He clarified that this is merely a personal wish and not indicative of any confirmed transfer interest from the club."

Also a bit more googling got this....

Fabianski turned down a move back to his original club Legia Warsaw 2 days ago telling the sporting director there he wanted to stay in England for a few more years

Now that we have consistency of leadership- we really need to solidify how Sheehan wants us to play and recruit accordingly.
What does he want from his front man - hold the ball up/pace/movement/finishing?
Or we could go for none of the above and welcome back Jerry Yates

From what I have seen it looks like Sheehan likes his front man to be relentless in the press as well as having the ability to contest and hold up the ball to give the wingers and attacking midfield players a chance to get up and around him. Scoring goals is also of course desirable but finding a player with the pressing intensity of Diego Costa, the hold up ability of Wilfried Bony (the first version) and the goalscoring ability of Michu all in one package is something that sides like Real Madrid would pay tens of millions for let alone the humble Swans.

It may surprise some of you that I suggest this, but what about Sam Dalby of Wrexham? Was offered a contract extension in January but turned it down and now available on a free. Scored 15 goals in the SPL on loan with Dundee United.

Those who are triggered by stats please skip the following.

3 penalties in those 15 goals, but still a very good return from 34 matches. His defensive stats are quite superb. 307 duels won, best in league for a striker. As are his 244 aerial duels won. Clearly formidable in the air. Above average on 9 out of 12 defensive metrics.

Also the best in the league for touches and one of the best for touches in the opposition box. 31 chances created, which is nearly best in league. Only negative is his pass accuracy of just 59.2 per cent. Bizarrely his long ball accuracy of 63.2 per cent is better.

Dalby's attributes best fit a long ball side, but perhaps he would fit Sheehanball pretty well, especially with his defensive strengths. We have excellent crossers in Eom and Tymon. Dalby would certainly be able to exploit quality head high deliveries, which only Darling has been able to take advantage of consistently last season.

From Wikipedia:

Dalby's style of play has been likened [by whom?] to English striker Harry Kane, due to his stature, finishing and hold up play. He was described as a special talent, with former Orient teammate James Dayton describing him 'He's left-footed, has a lovely touch and he's very aware of space. He is very natural at taking the ball into space and away from pressure'.
