Because he wasted two years of our time and resources on trying to make himself look good instead of doing what was best for Swansea City. Why would any right thinking Swans fan not enjoy the sight of him making an arse of himself given that?

Like Steve Cooper did then.

Russ publicly rebuking his players today. Didn't take long. That'll engender team spirit. Any bollockings should be in the dressing room. It's going to end in tears.

-----------

"We had too many on the pitch today who just did what they wanted to do. When you want to just jog around, there’s a big problem. Some of them have to drop their ego. I’ll look at us tactically and accept my responsibility but today wasn’t really tactical, it was a mentality problem.

Today, we go ahead and play some OK stuff. Every time we get in the final third, we turn the ball over and make crazy decisions. They’re either selfish decisions or they’re based on anxiety, so we need to get to the bottom of that. Because there was far too much stuff that we haven’t worked on

Too much ego, too much self-preservation, and you’re either all-in all the time or you’re not. And if you’re not, you just won’t play very much.”
He’s complaining about players’egos?? Self unaware

He’s overtly saying that he is going to do the same there as he did here - coach any instinct and natural ability out of his players, and if they don’t do it they’ll be on the scrap heap. He’s the archetypal copy and paste manager that belongs nowhere near the game. He’s an odd bloke and there’ll be a players’ rebellion in due course when they’ll fuck him off, win a few games, he’ll then take the credit and force them back to the ‘process’ and go on an awful run again.

Aye, painting by numbers. He doesn’t even try to hide it. It’s their fault because they didn’t do exactly what ‘we’ told them to do all the time.

It’s pathetic. A case study in how football on the pitch has lost its way. Hopefully this is his last job above league 1, but some idiot will probably keep employing the flop haired narcissist.

He will be making himself available for fan selfies next week, that will give him some breathing space for a few months. Being cool can mask the crap football with some, as was proven during his time with us.

Its straight out of the RM playbook. Indignation. Players under the bus. He went there a little early though. I am surprised.

Chris Sutton take on Russ : 'He's machine gunned the dressing room' 😂😂

"He's gone very early with this, but it's a bit desperate, first game of the season - just sort of easing himself in to absolutely machine gun the dressing room in the way that he did.

For him to do that first game of the season, he sees them every day in training, he must think they're rank rotten. He must do, because why wouldn't there be a bit more balance there?

When have you ever seen a manager come out and fillet the team - and we all think he's right, by the way - but when have you ever seen a manager do that first game of the season? I said before, everybody has a good pre-season, everybody's happy in pre-season, everybody tells you it's been wonderful.

Now the season has started, he has to win, but that was extreme."

And the first post on a Rangers Forum thread this morning :😂

"This is going to be a long season with him in charge.
That performance was awful, as bad as anything we've seen recently. His subs were terrible his style of play is terrible we are a mess.
Motherwell played the same way and did it better than we did.
I am absolutely gutted we've appointed him: this ends one way."

And here's another comment any one of us could have written the day he was appointed by Rangers 😂😂

"For everyone that didn't want him appointed, myself included, that was the absolute template performance why. Passing around at the back for the sake of it, zero intensity going forward "
