Ah right. So Parliament could legislate to give the regulator the power to seek to end the blackout. But parliament can’t legislate to end the blackout. Nothing to do with Parliament as it’s from a UEFA regulation. Parliament doesn’t have to legislate to end the clause. That clause is basically Parliament pontificating about something it has no power to change. Parliament does that an awful lot.
What about mobility impaired/old/unwell people, who would absolutely love to watch their team every match but currently cannot, despite the ability to offer them the option being very easy to achieve.
There's 1000s like this who opt for the radio, because they can't watch it, it's 2025, give the oldies discounts and we'll have new fans paying into the club.. I know a lot of old people because my mother works in a retirement complex, there's at least 20+ who use the radio on match days, that's just one complex

Me again. The answer is surely pay per view and cutting out the middleman ie. sky etc. Absolute freedom of choice.

I used to understand that argument but you could probably count on one hand the number of times any of those sides kick off at 3pm on a Saturday during the season.
A neighbour of mine had a season ticket for the whole of the time the stadium has been open, but is unable to attend any matches these days due to mobility issues. There should be no more blackout of 3pm games , it's 2026 soon for goodness sake.
