I hope we can keep Yalcouyé through the second half of the season. He was full of energy and running today and I was a little surprised to see him get subbed off.
I think if we continue to play Yalcouye and he continues to improve, we’ll see him here all season.

Enjoyed watching that today. It’s clear we have problems creating chances but we do have an exceptional work rate on and off the ball at the moment. The goal was a prime example of that, it all started with Ronald putting in an excellent challenge, and the finish was incredible from Fulton. Wonder goal no. 1000 scored this season!

I was surprised too, but then remembered we have another game in a few days.
I see VP and Galbraith starting on Sunday. Widell should as well as he is the driving force with the press. Really happy for Widell he was left out of the squad under Sheehan but now is adapting really well and is leading by example. Yalcouye has done brilliant to add to that too.

Matos thinking will be to keep it 0-0 untill the 60th minute then get Galbraith and Vip (for Stamenic and Inoussa/Widell is my guess) on to try and win it.

Whether we can keep it a close game until the 60th minute is different case. A point and i am happy.
Unbelievable squad management from Matos. Extremely tough time of the year this with players needing a rest and he managed it perfectly.

Credit to the lads aswell running on fumes and managed to dig that result out.

In fairness Ronald's challenge was far from excellent
The ref missed a clear foul but we have been mugged by refs almost all season so I will take that

I thought it was decent when I saw it live but having seen the replay back, yeah he got away with one there.

I would love to see a midfield 3 starting on Sunday of Stamenic, Yalcouye and Widell
Wales and Eom to start on the flanks with Vipotnik to lead the line

Was it a foul? Looked a superb tackle and an assist from where I was sat.

Just take a moment to celebrate Vitor Matos
Incredible pressing
Defensive stability (Only 1 own goal in 4 home wins with 3 clean sheets)
Good use of the bench (managing in games)
Visibly improving his players individually (Key Yalcouye and Fulton being just 3 examples)
Club is obviously united and the togetherness is showing.
Just took a look and after a couple of wins Boro under Hellberg have now had 3 consecutive defeats.
I am going to nail my colours to the mast - Matos is a keeper - and we had better have a succession plan - because he is going to get poached by a bigger club in approximately 16-18 months time.
I said early on we might have a diamond in the rough. Couldnt be happier for him after a tough start too.

An odd game tactically.

Playing without a striker cost us in terms of creativity, but it didn't half make the press effective. WBA simply couldn't keep the ball long enough. Second half we subbed our way to a more conventional setup and it was like our half time drinks had been spiked with Mogadon. WBA went up several gears and it seemed like only a matter of time until we conceded.

Enter Jay Fulton. Goal aside he was excellent when he came on. Helped us to bully our way back into dominance.

Yalcouye probably our best player but nobody really played poorly. Key did well in the first half which will be a boost to his confidence hopefully. Pleased to hear the amount of support for him from around me in the East. People wanted him to do well.

Vig

Galbraith, Cabango, Burgess, Tymon

Stamenic, Yalcouye, Widell

Wales, Vip, Eom

Sounds good to me 😉. Though I suspect based on today Ronald will get a start over Wales.
