S25/26 | The Official Match Thread | Portsmouth 1 Swansea 2 | Att: 18,508 (536 Jacks) | 10.03.26 | The EFL Championship | Fratton Park

After the final 30 mins yesterday anyone still thinking we should still cash in our 2 most valuable assets in the summer should seriously think again
The reality is, if the big boys come calling then the club don’t really have a choice. Agents force these moves or risk a very unsettled dressing room.

Also as much as we'd want to keep them the money if spent wisely could strengthen the team overall.

I can’t think of a player where we have turned down offers from a higher division and the player stayed and was happy. Bodde to Derby is the transfer that comes to mind with us playing real hardball, even though he did kick up a fuss, but I’m sure Derby were in the same league.

Just watched the highlights back and the crossfield ball from Vipi to Ronald for Key’s goal was sublime.
The Pompey commentary team were praising Vip up and rightly so. For a struggling lower Prem team he might get the goals to make the difference between staying up or getting relegated.
His all round game is top level championship now and I’m so glad the club wasn't tempted into giving him away. It also underlines just how much of an impact a decent coach can have really.
One low spot for the comms team was describing Vigs save onto the post as “lucky”. To me that was top drawer goalkeeping, seeing the ball late through a crowd of players.
A great three points and onto Wrexham, who stumbled a bit last night and who have been decimated in midfield by injuries and lost a player to a red card in their energy sapping defeat at home to Chelsea over 2 hours. Like a lion sensing a weak member of a herd the players should really attack this game, there’s nothing to lose and an aggressive pressing game might just see Wrexham cave in. I’m hoping Matos is of the same mind.

Somebody the other day used Vipotnik's lack of assists for evidence of how he wasn't an all-around good player.

That ball to Ronald won't show up on the stat sheet, but was sublime as you say. He also should have had an assist against Preston if Yalcouye had finished better and another against Stoke if Galbraith had scored. Both were lovely passes in the penalty area and suggest the problem is more with other player's inability to score rather than his passing ability.

Rangel to someone.
