It was pretty well known that Idah wanted to stay at Celtic Park too, perhaps he was about to hit an appearance clause and the board got itchy feet? Anyway, I'm glad he's our player now and I'm confident he'll come good given a run of games.
We’ve all seen enough of him in a hoops shirt to know what he’s capable of.

Only as relevant as you saying £7m, that’s my whole point. You don’t know, and I don’t know. Basing your view on something you admit to not knowing is cuckoo mun.

I have no scooby-doo how much the Swans will want for Idah or Vipotnik, but I do know they have very similar Championship records and I’m certain fans will be disappointed if we sell Vipotnik for less than £6-7m and slate the club for selling him cheap.

I'm basing it on us potentially (with some fairly achievable milestones) having to pay 7million for him as the most commonly reported figure. If others want to delude themselves by wanting to believe its less to justify his overall level performance thats up to them.

Absolutely, Vipotnik in is double figures at the half way stage of the season, something Idah can only dream of. Hes scored more goals in half a season than Idah did in 4 championship seasons in his last spell in this division.

But why are you basing it on that when you admit to not knowing if it’s true?

Idah has 18 goal contributions in 3400 championship minutes.

Vipotnik has 18 goal contributions in 3565 championship minutes.

Nearly identical championship records.

Fans judging players by their (alleged) transfer fee has been going on for decades. The fact that the player has nothing to do with how much a club paid for him doesn't matter it seems.
We paid 16/17 million apparently for Clucas from Stoke when he wasn't worth 5 million. I don't blame Clucas, I blame the madman who authorised the bank transfer.

and if they do, it must mean he did something right to achieve it.

Another vote to please stop

Means nothing, if he repeats his current goals per minute rate over the rest of season he'll end up on around 6? What's that a million for every goal we paid?

Always has and always will be the case. It doesn't help with a club like us who can't be throwing money around especially the rumoured fees for Idah and Inoussa and not get a return on the pitch.
Hopefully mistakes get learned, you could argue that they should have already been learned from mistakes made on Clucas and Bony MK 2.

I think we should probably stay clear of spending fees that could cost us 6M when we are in the position we are currently in when there are players like Galbraith,Eom and Francos out there for a million or 2.

Yes now and yes for us too. He has more goal contributions per minute than any player in our team.

Is that an achievement then? As I've pointed out thats also padded by a penalty and a Wrexham gift. Prior to joining us he scored 11 in 4 seasons. Come on, why are we pretending hes in any way affective!?

Of course it is an achievement. Seasons doesn’t matter, he was a teenager just breaking into the Norwich side and also injured.

It’s minutes on the pitch that matters and he has a better championship record than Vipotnik over a similar amount. I would say why are you pretending the opposite?

Swansea City v Birmingham City
