• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

I wouldn't moan so much if it was the same as it is in the east stand, where everyone arrives and just tries their luck at roughly the same time. But surely one of the plus points of having a system like that is you are able to reasonably judge what is about to hit you at half time.

Instead you walk down there, and there's some quim who's only just started pulling the pints (and it's only one most of time), two people max actually dishing them out (nowhere near enough), meanwhile the queue just carries on growing back as far as the bogs.

For the money they've spent putting the screens in they may as well just scrap them, and go back to the east stand free for all approach. Absolute waste of time
The simple solution is to employee staff with some experience of working behind the bar.

I feel sorry for the current lot, its not their fault they've been thrown in the deep in with very little training, if any at all.

Fair point, but I would have more sympathy if it wasn't for the fact that it has been like this for years regardless who was running it.

Back in the cash days I once gave a server the odds plus a tenner (let's say the pint was £5.40 I gave £10.40) and I've never seen someone panic so much. In the end I just said give me the 0.40 back and I'll have the shrapnel

The fact it's been shit for so long makes this gaggle calling themselves MEWG even more laughable.

This "working" party has been meeting since October 2023 allegedly, can anyone tell me what has actually changed on a match day to improve the experience?
Have the gates been opened earlier? So that people can actually leave when the football is dross.

Anyone noticed from the any of the minutes if they've ever discussed where home and away fans are situated in the ground or the elephant in the ground which is the South Stand.

The attendance is how many tickets are sold , does it make any difference where fans sit
When the attendance is 16,000 × the South Stand is well attended .
For me I don't see a problem the make up of away fans on the North Stand is ideal.

The fact fans are being encouraged by lower ticket prices
A winning team playing good football is the way to Improve attendances

The location of the away fans can be an issue. Ideally we want them to have minimal impact with maximum impact on how home fans can turn the ground in to bit of a fortress, so yes it can make a difference where away fans are located inside a stadium

Should be in the corner of the North stand and West , particularly if there's only 500 or so. To give them behind the goals when there's that few of them , leaving the bottom tier empty is criminal. Our fans should be behind both goals.

Totally agree, we need to make the stadium as intimidating as possible and maximising all the space we have.

Impressed with away support for the last 2 seasons .
Most teams now bring 1000+ the. atmosphere generated adds to the match day experience .
Don't agree away fans shouldn't be behind the goal .
Do you think our fans would be happy not sitting/standing behind the goal ?

Yeah they could easily be shifted over splitting the north stand in half for home and away support

Away fans should always be close to the singing section of the home fans. Makes for a better atmosphere.
