I would take a guess it was central midfield given he started the season there and only went into RB due to Key lack of form. I think a recent interview from him suggests he prefers CM.

Which is correct, Sheehan saw him as a midfielder and largely played him there. But Sheehan didn’t sign him…

Matos now sees him as more valuable at right back which is why a player like that is so attractive, he’s a player that is future proofed against manager.

At no point has the club said he’s only a midfielder.

Same with Bianchini, he is capable of playing as a winger and as a CF. I am certain that when he was signed, Paul Watson did so knowing he would be strengthening both areas.

Sadly, he just wasn’t very good. Making up he’s just a winger though isn’t true.

Even Sheehan played Galbraith at RB against QPR.

You are assuming they did.

My assumption is, they signed him to play mainly CM and to be back up to Key at RB if injury or lack of form happened.
If they were happy with him at RB then they wouldnt have signed Ward and kept Galbraith and Key as the RB options.

Poor planning by the club if what you are saying is the case. Having 3 RB players in Galbraith,Key and Ward is silly given our financial restrictions.

I’m not, every manager has played him at right back at various frequency, and his multi positional utility was mentioned upon signing.

Ward was cover for CB and RB to compete with Key as he is struggling for form. Matos also said this.
